My strategy with APS is pretty simple, I pick out a round type that compliments the ship and also the gauge. I make sure to pay close attention to the barrel length and sizing of the clips needed to match with the cannon, I typically aim for vertical tetris as it's the simplest for APS. I build a solid layout and replace parts as needed for the best performance. Railguns and ACB ammo systems are pretty advanced so I wouldn't recommend using them at all until you feel comfortable with APS tetris and design
