I wish you would create the version of this mod but for Kaiserredux, playing with Armenia or Assyria, or without going any further, with Greece and seeing Arabic or Turkish names when I have conquered one state makes me nervous.

@Meljuk thank you!!! I will try to implement this at some point, but sadly not in the coming update :( as it would require recoding the HOI4 builder of the mod and it would require too much time unfortunately, but when I'll have spare time I will

@Părelologul Șef It should be in the latest base game update. In the 'state_names_l_english.yml' and 'victory_points_l_english.yml', you can see the names listed. To make the name dynamic, you simply add another entry with the tag for the holder in front of it, followed by an underscore. Below are examples how Paradox already added some names.

With states:
STATE_6:0 "Vlaanderen"
BEL_STATE_6: "Vlaanderen"
HOL_STATE_6: "Vlaanderen"
GER_STATE_6: "Flandern"
FRA_STATE_6: "Flandre"

And with Victory Points:
VICTORY_POINTS_9570:0 "Breslau"
POL_VICTORY_POINTS_9570: "Wrocław"
CZE_VICTORY_POINTS_9570: "Vratislav"
HUN_VICTORY_POINTS_9570: "Boroszló"
ISR_VICTORY_POINTS_9570: "Bresloi"

@Meljuk oh that sounds great! Can you point me to that update please? I'd very much like to look into it and then integrate it into the mod. I haven't played HOI4 in a long time so I don't know of any other way other than the old one.

With the new update, it seems that Paradox has added a way to do this without constantly spamming events using the localisation files for states and victory points. Maybe you could change the way the mod works to that?

Yeah the games lags a lot even when the decision tab is closed, are you constantly running chech updates? Is that how you make it work, because it does make the game unplayably slow, escpecially if you have the random nations mod on (can you even imagine?). Can you find another way to do it so i can actually use this mod, it's a shame otherwise

Could you remove some cities that get renamed through events from the list? For example, Leningrad can be renamed to Petrograd after the Trotskyists win, but this mod automatically changes the name back to Leningrad.

No, actually. Huh. That's new. Well, the game generally runs slower when you open the decisions tab, so I guess it's literally just because there's so many.

I can confirm UnitedParaGaming_TTV & Nola issues regarding decision tab lagging when opened due to this mod triggers 430 timed events every 15 days. Hopefully this can be fix. If the decision tab is closed, the game will run fine, but when you open the decision and that timed events triggers, it makes the game run like a powerpoint presentation slide.

Dynmic state and city renames has some great names for cities and states maybe if the mod dev permits you can use its resources for the rt56 compatibiity patch

Yes, it's because I don't own EU4 :P (and honestly I'm not too interested in it myself, it's quite old and has the same look as CK2 which I've had too much of)

If anyone wants to contribute and add support for it I'd be all for it and would help as much as I can. I think it would be a great addition to have support for it.

Also, is there any reason why MCN doesn't have an EU4 mod? Because the only mods like this on the EU4 workshop have been abandoned.

The names are assigned based on the country tag. If the tag is HUN, then the names are hungarian, if it's AUS then they are german.
So it all depends on which tag Austria-Hungary is using, e.g. who creates it.

This is a bit unfortunate since restoring Austria-Hungary as Germany is quite hard and very unlikely to happen. This is, as far as I know, the only way Austria-Hungary will use the AUS tag. I'm not sure how the Ottoman decision for Austria-Hungary works.
And, unfortunately, I can't do anything about it, since the HUN tag is also used for Hungary itself.

@GotWeenies it was developed for vanilla and not tested with other mods. A version for Road to 56 is something that can be done but right now I cannot promise anything.

Kaiserreich has their own system for native names so I do not know if the work would be tenable or end up making sense.

Thanks for the report!

I would say anything that works (if at all) with other mods that change the map is coincidental, since this mod is targeted for vanilla HOI4.
I have some concerns about the city names, even if you think they are ok, this might not always be the case, since their names are tied to the country that controls the state they are in. And if the states changed, they might not be in the state that MCN expects them to be.

For example, both the Tsarigrad and Odrin names are already supposed be used for Bulgaria for those two cities, and if they are not, it means that what I worried about above is actually what happens.

p.s. just checked, it's sort of compatible, states are ducked up but the city names are good, also please make it so that istambul with bulgaria is called Tsarigrad (since that's our name for it) and Edirne, Odrin, apart from that the mod is awesome :)

Alrighty checked out the mod alone, and around 15 days in I got around 430 timed events.

So I noticed a bug (idk if it's because of other mods I have or not, haven't tried it), while I had this mod activated, my decisions tab would be spammed with 300-400 different timed events for around 15 days, every 15 days. If this could be fixed, I'd be much obliged. I'mma try it out without other mods after I finish my current game, and respond then. Other than that, great work!

I haven't checked that particular one, but it should work, as long as it just adds new regions. However, those regions will not be localised.

The way this mod works is that if a country X owns a state with id Y, and there is a localisation for it in that country's language, it applies it. (same goes for cities).

So it will still work even if states get deleted, or new ones get added.

As I stated there could be some outdated names left (inherited from the CK variants) but fixing them is high priority.

Awesome. I've been following your mods for a while, since I found the one for CKII HIP. Always impressed. I will note that Smolensk is still Smolensku in the HOI4 version, whuen it should either be Smolensk (under Moscow) or Smaliensk (under any possible Belarusian occupation). Otherwise, I am always blown away by the pure quality of your work.
