or whatever it is is there for Austria-Hungary, it could work. You just have to modify to the Hungarian renames to have all of the following, have tag = hun, and having a Austria Hungary cosmetic tag to be false. At least, theoretically.

This is a bit unfortunate since restoring Austria-Hungary as Germany is quite hard and very unlikely to happen. This is, as far as I know, the only way Austria-Hungary will use the AUS tag. I'm not sure how the Ottoman decision for Austria-Hungary works.
And, unfortunately, I can't do anything about it, since the HUN tag is also used for Hungary itself.

I would say anything that works (if at all) with other mods that change the map is coincidental, since this mod is targeted for vanilla HOI4.
I have some concerns about the city names, even if you think they are ok, this might not always be the case, since their names are tied to the country that controls the state they are in. And if the states changed, they might not be in the state that MCN expects them to be.
For example, both the Tsarigrad and Odrin names are already supposed be used for Bulgaria for those two cities, and if they are not, it means that what I worried about above is actually what happens.
The way this mod works is that if a country X owns a state with id Y, and there is a localisation for it in that country's language, it applies it. (same goes for cities).
So it will still work even if states get deleted, or new ones get added.
As I stated there could be some outdated names left (inherited from the CK variants) but fixing them is high priority.
