Great mod, my only complaint is that one of the abilities of "UA: Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons" is giving me little blips of owned territory that I can't use or get rid of. Maybe it should be amended to only apply to land units or just to cavalry? Might also balance it a bit too, thank you for this great civ!

Design has been updated to better reflect research and to lead the player towards a domination victory. In addition, some minor bug fixes were pushed. Cheers!

Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons was chosen because it sounds cool and, while not connected to Makhno directly, was at least inspired by the Anarchist ideas of Ukraine and the Makhnovist movement that continues today. Notably, I didn't actually choose this ability name myself- I had something different previously but folks involved with the development REALLY wanted Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons.

The map was graciously provided by RawSasquatch and I'm very happy to have had their help in bringing this mod to fruition, and while I'm sure there might be minor inaccuracies, given the limited resources of the modding community I'm inclined to keep the map the way it is.

That said, I'm always glad to learn more and I'm glad you took an interest in my work!

Hey there, I appreciate the feedback and thought I'd give a bit of a response-

The skull and crossbones were propaganda but they've since been entrenched in Anarchist culture so I felt they were good. However, I decided to specifically use it only for the UU because I didn't want to represent the entirety of the Civilization using Bolshevik propaganda. There was some discussion about this previously during development, but there was still thought put into the decision.

Also if "Forward Beneath the Black Flag of Anarchy" is too long, perhaps just "Forward Beneath the Back Flag" or "Forward Beneath the Flag of Anarchy" could work instead

This black flag could work, but I don't know if it would end up looking good given other unit icons have black backgrounds.

The map shown in the image also has reservoirs created long after the civil war, however it's going to be hard to find a good map of it during that era and it's probably not worth the effort to to edit it anyway.

Very interesting mod. I don't think these are important at all, but I have a few excruciatingly small nitpicks that you might be interested in tackling if you are looking for a greater historical accuracy.

Makhno specifically denied the movement used the skull and crossbones flag that circulates around as a Maknovist flag. The origin of their association with the flag comes from pro-Bolshevik historiography, which also paints the movement in a very negative light (source: "To the Jews of all Countries" by Nestor Makhno). Perhaps an anarchist black flag on a white background would work instead?

"Mother anarchy loves her sons" also seems to not be part of Makhno's works, but added by a modern band to a song based on what appears to be one of his poems (which includes most of the other lyrics).
An alternative to it could be "Forward beneath the black flag of Anarchy", which does come from Makhno himself (a poem called "Summons") and fits the UA even better in my opinion.

That... Sounds absolutely superb. Can't wait for it! Potentially, a more broad buff that gives you even more options for spreading anarchy might be a good idea? Right now, it's... Rare, at best, for the UA to actually kick in and take effect, in my experience.
