The insect eggs in this mod only hit 50% unless they get fertilized, then they will lay fertilized eggs. Be sure to set a specific stockpile for them in good temps. :)
That doesn't mean not wild at all. They aren't farm animals. ;) But it does mean they are trainable and they lay eggs. Those eggs hatch for smaller insects that have to grow up before they can be fully trained.
When you select anything in RimWorld, click the little i. You can learn tons about the individual items.
When I say I only modded to allow them to be trained and lay eggs, that is all I changed. What they eat I did not.
Or do megascarabs turn into megaspiders at some point?
If not then how would you breed megaspiders?
Nay - This mod adds train-ability, so they are smarter than pen animals, and can do work etc, so you would use zones not pens.
