It should have more sense if we use a doodad instead of fireflies which on base game is used to become a light source inside the hat, and at real life miner hats are just a hardhat with a plugged lantern on it a flashlight, the eletrical doodad shold be a kind of battery so to fuel it would be hard fueling it with doodads making the mod very expensive and balance, what ya think about? I don't make myself because i don't know how to mod this game, i just get ideas.

What tab is this supposed to be under? I've checked them all, including tabs while standing by the Pseudoscience machine, but I can't find it.

The ability to turn on and off the miner hat when equipping it. I don't understand the point of turning it on and off on the floor when you just craft a lantern.

Make the miner hat only be able to light up what u see in front of u and not around u

I remember some mods before for DS had some things that would have both the % durability and an imitation of the freshness meter in some form. You could attempt to do the same with miner hat's durability as an armor and fuel for the light.

I didnt expect this mod to just blow out of nowhere.
I will try to put some of the suggestions, just have in mind that im not much of an expert DST modding guy and i code whenever i feel like.

So things for next patch
1-Option to refuel with campfire fuel (Should be easy)

2-Option to be armor against debris instead of protection (the game doesnt like having 2 separated durability components, so cant be like a football helmet/light source at the same time)

3-Option for the flickering (i had another idea for the flickering so expect that) also would the clink prob

Changing the sprite not only would require the mod to be all_clients_require but it would also mean having to draw back, front and sideways sprites.
if someone is willing to get me the sprite sheet i can put put it as a separate mod (With proper credits to the artist ofc)

Only known issue is that bone armor has higher priority than the hat so it would consume the armor instead, the fix should be douable.

Just make it a regular armor on top of it being a light source with like 70% protection. Could repair the armor part with gold or something.

Oh also, it would be neat and immersive if the hat's light flickered briefly upon it getting hit by debris, (not long enough to be harmful).

What a great idea, seems like the sort of mod that 100% absolutely needs to inspire main game changes. In person protection is half of the purpose of miner hats. Also since you say suggestions are welcome, maybe a "clink" sound when debris bounce off your hat. Configurable maybe. Also if the hat's are made made black like the icon I'd like that configurable.
