I have no intention of updating the mod either, B42 has a metal bat inside of it so this mod is gonna be deprecated once B42 rolls out to IWBUMS

you cook solid metal out of pieces of metal similar to a baseball bat, your beta is already heavier and stronger than a wooden one, which is only worth the fact that you can make sharp parts right on it to enhance the piercing damage

well it depends on the TYPE of metal bat we are talking about... majority of metal bats are made out of aluminum and are hollow, to keep them light and durable enough.

but realistically speaking, i did it this way to make it so you still have a usage for nailed bats. the metal bat has high durability and a little more damage in comparison to the wooden bat, while the nailed bat is still great for it's sheer damage output, but not for durability.

it seems to me that a metal bat should cause much more damage than a wooden one with nails.

A bat with nails will damage the zombie's surface more. at a time when metal has more penetrating power, which makes it much easier to pierce brains or damage bones

it's a little better than the regular bat, but nowheres NEAR where the crowbar is,

also FYI to anybody who doesn't know. the Devs have added a Metal bat to B42, so once that rolls out this mod will officially be [DEPRECATED]

How is the durability loss chance on this? Better than a regular bat, worse than a crowbar?

@RustySpoon, unfortunately I am no good at modeling. and if I was to do that i'd wanna do it all the way with custom models included, so I will not be doing that.

but no worried! this mod is gonna become NULL as of B42! because they have added a metal bat to the basegame so who knows! maybe they'll let you do that

allow for barbed wire on it and maybe screws and bolts too since the welder could weld them toghether???

I can say it is working though, and craftable! I crafted it in my last play through a few weeks back!

ah, it should be under metalworking! if not you can tick the "search all" tickmark next to the searchbar and type in metal bat! not sure if that's the actual name of the tickmark, but it's DIRECTLY next to the search tab!

yes i have the required metal working for it, i looked through the crafting menu, what panel in the menu is it under?

@Bringer I'm gonna assume you have the crafting menu open, do you have the required levels in metalworking?

i have the mod subscribed, i have the materials in inventory to craft the bat, how do i prompt my character to craft it? i cant figure it out.

the Durability is between the regular bat and a metal pipe, I replaced the sound to one of the vanilla sounds as I felt it fit more into how a metal bat should sound

I liked the original mod for the durability, however over there the bat feels like i have long blunt 11 when in actuality, its 1. Does this version still have the custom sound and is the durability any different?

the level requirement is only needed to craft it but not repair it

@Jose Ramos Both! you can find it in the game world (although it's rare and I can't fix that cause I'm horrible with Distro files ) and be crafted, I plan on upping the metalworking level required from 2 to 4 or 5 based on feedback from some people I know

Can this stick only be crafted, or can it be found on the map as well?

@Bill the grip tape should be black already shouldn't it? that's the texture i have for the model at least

@tekknobabblr i thought the metal pipe and metal bar used the same sound. huh the more you know!

I modified the Item_MetalBat script to make it use the metal bar hit sounds, and it sounds great like that! Thanks for this mod!

The metalbatshot sound you have in the sound folder is good enough, I like using it, just needed a little tweak and remove the initial silence and its good to go.
