Thank you Puddles! I'm gonna give a try to your fix once I have some free time and update the mod. If you ever want to discuss how to fix the companions and stuff feel free to add me on steam. Unfortunately, I only assisted the programmer with the mod and it was ages ago so I don't remember exactly how we made things work back then.

afaik everything in the mod still functions properly except the taming/companion mechanism. The most recent update altered how AI behavior functions, so any mod from prior to that update containing allies just...broke.

I...have absolutely no idea how to fix the Follower mechanic. The mechanism this mod used is completely different than the one in the most recent Follower Manager, and I'm not sure what files I'd need to reference to recreate it. Everything else will work as intended with an edited modmain.lua though.

Drop the folder inside the archive in Steam\steamapps\common\dont_starve\mods\ and overwrite the modmain.lua file. The mod will stop crashing.

@Shia feel free to merge this into the mod if you want to update it.

It looks like a lot of older mods that let you control animals as followers use a setup like this:

ACTIONS.STAYORDER = GLOBAL.Action(2, true, true)

At some point one of the updates or patches made this non-functional, and when it searches for Global.Action the game crashes. I'm checking some newer follower mods to see how they have it working.

The source of the crashing is the Stay Command section of the modmain.lua file for the mod that's conflicting with an DS update. I really have no idea what in the section is causing the crash though, this is a bit too complex a script for me to troubleshoot. If you delete this section from the modmain.lua the mod will work. I'll see if I can fix it.
