Looks like i was at 2800 so maybe that gives me enough lee-way to rig it.

So I might try in the future once Im done with my current backlog of projects

I know, thats how close the count was. Masks have a limit of 3k. Filling all the empty space on the head was seriously tough. My poly count was very close to the limit.

I'm pretty sure I ran out of polys. Dreads are incredibly triangle intensive. I could barely make enough to get it to look right. So getting them to move? I don't think I could set enough bones to do it.

I did want to though.
