if anyone is having problem with ear rape like sounds, whether it be screeching, loud, static, etc. Type snd_restart into the console, this will restart the sound system, and should fix any sound related problems.

okay so this breaks the game and causes concrete walk effects to completely explode with ugly static that is earsplittingly loud and same for menu buttons

@Shadow Jeezus also if you want to get rid of them, then delete the specific ones. I am not going to give you specific path. The blood effects are for example effects :D

@Shadow Jeezus If you have downloaded css content then there are footstep files, flashlight files and blood files which replace all of the vanilla ones which makes from modded ones not work. Also there are some issues with blood in the ep1 or ep2 content.

ok so i found why they stopped working, i uninstalled several addons (needed to anyways), i guess there was a conflict? not sure

the gmod ui sounds suddenly stopped working today, i have no idea why they did

for some reason the footsteps don't work, it worked the first time, but as soon as im in a new server they just stopped working.

I honestly don't understand why that is happening, the only thing I could recommend is maybe just downloading the footstep sounds separately and see if that fixes it, I'm really hoping this is an isolated issue, as no one else was reported this

I tried it several times now. To no avail, the footsteps still don't work. The other sounds work fine. It's just the footsteps that don't work.

Try disabling all addons except for this one, see if that fixes that

for some reason, all of these sounds work except for the footsteps. The footsteps are still the same default hl2 sounds. Idk if i have any conflicting addons, but i figured i could find out here. Btw, congrats on getting your other addon in the most popular section

Gunfire ambience in hl2 was replaced with gunfire ambience from hla, so the battle sounds in the street war and in nova prospekt have been changed to hla sounds.
