In this case (and all cases), if there is a scriptless repack, unsubscribe from the original mod, and subscribe to the repack in order to use custom hud icons and custom weapon scripts.
From the main guide:
"A Note About Compatibility
If Your Custom HUD Icon Doesn't Appear in Game
Read the description of each custom HUD Icon carefully. Many weapon mods are not up to date and/or mod makers included outdated custom weapon scripts. These scripts use the old style of icons and will make it so *these* custom ones do not appear. In many of these cases, I will submit a "scriptless repack" of the mod that you should subscribe to so that HUD Icons and Weapon Scripts will be usable. Again, read the description of each HUD Icon carefully."
The same is true for weapons scripts. If the original modder's vpk is made the legacy way, my icons and script won't show. When that happens, I remove the issue and reupload the original modder's mod (original credits given). So that you can use hud icons and weapons scripts. Otherwise, you're stuck with whatever the original modder implemented (which may be outdated, not match the weapon's model, not suite your tastes, etc.)
