@Anarism Just tried it and though it is *possible* to make larger nebulae via file editing, it obliterates performance at even 15000km. I was barely able to quit the game.

I wonder if fog weather is possible and with customizable color. To create a nebula in which it is difficult to see.

Is there any way you could increase the max size to a few million km instead of 1500km? Would love to use these on my server, but they're too small to even be seen when traveling from one solar system to another (my solar systems are typically about 70 light seconds apart or about 21million+ km). Real nebula typically encompass multiple stars and span for many light years, but for space engineers if you could get them to be at least 7.5million km they could be used to create some fun obstacles to avoid or go through while travelling to other star systems plus we could then hide planets or stars inside easily

Unfortunately when I add this mod it doesnt seem to like many of the other mods, since adding it crashes a bunch. But it DOES work otherwise. This is literally amazing once you dig in.

You can make your planet radioactive in the sun! Idk if I can do it permanently but this is absolutely awesome.

Is there a way to make the nebula brighter? I set the density to max and messed around with the intensity and its a little better but still its very hard to see.

only this mod is up-to-date, because it doesn't work for me, when I enter the /nremove command, nothing happens, the nebula can't be seen

Noob question, is it all manual or can I just use the seed command to generate a random nebula in a random spot or do I have to place every point by hand?

I have a quick question about the /nshape command: If I wanted the nebula to occupy an asteroid ring around a planet only (SEWorldGenV2), does the shape list include a flattened torus shape that I can place in the same position? Thanks

Could you perhaps allow the frequency of weather to be lower, I want an extremely volatile and dangerous nebula and the weathers are just not occurring enough. I am thinking to be able to set it as low as 10 seconds, so weather is constantly a hazard and ongoing. I place the nebula within a planet to engulf the planet in fumes and toxic air, to achieve a toxic and dangerous planet effect.

can we have a larger radius limit [;ease? got a large scale system going on with this in the middle and its tiny, and i dont want to work around that by spawning more as thats gonna have more effect on performance than just making this bigger, as it is unless someone is REALLY far into space they probably wont see it ever, heck let us go so far as half a mil km radius or something and we decide when its hitting the game too hard, im happy to sit here and run sizes til my game eats itself

We run this on our server and we get 1.0 SIM. So, it really has little to no impact in my experience. That said, mileage will vary depending on your host machine specs, as well as the specs of the connecting users.

Hey im thinking of adding this to my server but theres one thing i gotta know. How big is the performance hit with this? Is it just a few frames? Basically Nothing? or does it drop off like 10-30 frames?

Excellent mod, well done. Need an off/on trigger for space weather and Helmet Visor sound warnings for heavy radiation storms in survivor mode :steamhappy:

There seems to be the problem with this mod. There is a glitter flying around in the whole world all the time. Removing nebula weathers doesn't help. Only removing the mod from the world seems to work and the giltter disappears. It looks kind of like the dust storm effect.

This seems to occur on not all PCs. For an instance when I run the game locally on my PC, there's no glitter. But when I run it on my server, the glitter occurs.

You can download the Khurakan System and see it for yourself, for an instance on Celaeno, where there's no nebula nearby.

Hey, just wanted to ask if you were going to add in those gas collection in nebula at any point? I know the water mod had ice collection with a collector under water.

Hello, somehow this mod creates particles similar to the dust storm effect across my whole system. This effect occurs all the time, everywhere. I checked all nebulas if they have such a weather effect, but they didn't. I even removed all nebulas from the systtem, but those particles stayed. Only removing the nebula mod from the game helped.

Any ideas?

Tested the dedicated server mirror with torch here.
Seems to work fine. But I didn't like the maximum density and minimum size possible.

If you ever decide to add the resource collection, how would you go about implementing hydrogen collection? As far as to my knowledge there isn't any other method of collecting hydrogen other than an h2/o2 generator

Update: Found the issue. 'closetPointOn[shape]' Vector in Nebula.cs is slightly incorrect, needs to account for position shift from 0,0,0. For example closestPointOnDonutX should be = (Vector3D.Normalize(new Vector3D(0, worldPosition.Y - Position.Y, worldPosition.Z - Position.Z)) * (scaledRadius / 2)) + Position

as opposed to (Vector3D.Normalize(new Vector3D(Position.X, worldPosition.Y - Position.Y, worldPosition.Z - Position.Z)) * (scaledRadius / 2))

Possible Issue: Nebula Donut and Ellipse Shapes dont properly render when generated at a certain distance from 0,0,0. Im not sure what that cutoff is, but 15,000+ causes those shapes to either render improperly or not at all

I'm having an issue where the entire game world is encompassed by a Radiation Storm (Message shows up when first logging in, white specs flying around screen). When I do /nclear it says I'm not in a nebula. Removing the mod removed the Radiation Storm.

okay i take that back.. after increasing the rgb code of the clouds from 0.1 to 100 i can now see the clouds but i dont see any weather happening... so the quesitons still the same... does it work?
