@*Hunter* The vmf looks like a total mess, if I remember right :P. I'm not sure which white panels you mean specifically but it's a pretty sure bet they're just parented to panels playing an animation. In a couple of cases I parented a brush to a panel, then parented that panel to another panel as a way to combine two animations in some way, so it could also be that.

Oh! For the indicator lights, so you literally used a func_brush and just disabled/enabled- that's genius lmao.
How'd you do those white panels at the back of the button that slide in? Is it just a func door and func_door_rotating?

By swapping out the rotating brush for one with correctly-baked lighting at exactly the right time. I think if I were doing this now I could find a simpler way, but hey, if it works it works

I opened this up in Hammer as a new Hammer guy, I got scared from all the player clips in the panel room and will never try to understand how this map even works ever again.

Holy shit, I had to "Host_timescale 0.1" in the console in order to process what was happening in the chamber during the big panel animation transition. All I can say is, holy shit, holy shit, and another holy shit on top wow this shit is fantastic I'm sorry. Might even be better than the official Valve levels lmao

They're all just in the game files. I think most of them are from coop? In terms of implementation I used several ambient_generic entities and manually timed them with logic_relays, though nowadays I'd do it properly, with logic_choreographed_scenes

WOW. I don't want to spoil anything for people just playing, but it is very fun. the fun comes from the visuals mostly, and the puzzle not super good, aligning the lazer was tough for me for some reason. But it's really not about the puzzle.

While the puzzle was pretty simple, this is one of my favorite maps! The design was beautiful and the moving panels was a really cool idea! Just wish it was longer!

Great map; only issue was when I respawned the laser cube, it ended up out of bound and I had to noclip to get it, though admittedly, there was no need to respawn it, so...yeah.

Also, use of grated panels is always a plus, something about their design just makes me go "yeah!"

Impressive! Such a satisfying transition. Reminds me of "Twins". The behind the scenes area was astounding as well. Loved the entire thing, you have a true talent for aesthetics. I only wish the puzzle were harder so I could spend more time marveling at your work.

Very short, but in exchange absolutely stunning map. I can certainly see where those 100+ hours were spent. Reminds me of Madeye and Leo's Twins concept-wise, but I'm not saying that you copied anything. Very cool, deserves a favourite for sure! :p2cube:

Oh, and this isn't part of a series. I prefer making one-off maps for my workshop, since it lets me focus on one idea at a time and then move on.

just a guess, maybe the button was pressed while the animation for the cube dispenser was still playing, and that caused some issues? I don't know much about the hammer editor, but maybe that's it.
