@meowcedon I couldn't imagine a playthru without using your unit mods, genuinely unique, professional and cool designs as well as Clan background taken into account when thinking of unit type. I'd like to request permission to use your various unit mods in a unit compilation mod I'm currently working on. I'll include credits as well as descriptions in the form of sections, so I'll have a section about each mod added to the compilation, then a link to the OG's along with urging peeps to endorse an like who did the bulk of the work. I started working on this once I realized Shogun 2 had a mod limit of 40-41ish meanwhile I've updated an fixed some of the various older mods.

@Riku, considering that these are custom units they won't be affected by mods that don't explicitly include them, hence no, it won't work. But, with modding tools such as RPFM you can easily alter unit sizes to whatever you like.

yeah but i think it would be really cool to try something like this out, i will pay for it btw, this won't be of any cost to you. I know it sounds fishy, but i actually just wanted to see what happens when you get a mod that changes something and/or adds something

Appreciate it, but mod in general is nothing special and is made of assets already present in game files. Creating anything from scratch for this would be waste of resources.

hey, i saw this mod and i thought i could help, i could get you in contact with voice actors, and they could do unit voice lines for you, feel like it would help make units more unique and such

Not sure if you mean Otomo instead of Promo, but there's mod for Portugese faction with unique units. In general, I will consider suggestions if I get to work on another mod.

Yeah i have same though with StarkNakedLandMass as well, maybe you could change / add with Triyari instead sling they use rifle and perhaps add 1 more troops for bowman perhaps? but this is just some sort of idea of mine and StarkNakedLandMass if you can't do it it's cool too, still this mod is enjoyable as there were so thanks for the mod

oda nobunaga was famous for bringing mixed rifle and bowman troops, to cover the reload time of the rifles, something I always try to emulate in my oda games. Would you consider making a single unit out of this idea?

Alight, I've checked with my own mod file and the one from workshop. Animations and projectiles seem to work fine. Not quiet sure what's up. Considering that no one had reported similar issue it might be something with your game files, or just that people can't be bothered with reporting it. Related to eventual incompatibility with other mods, I don't change existing data entries, instead I add new even if it's only slight difference. Still, game might have it's own moments.

When it comes to sling animations, not sure what tools you are using, but try searching for ninja/firebomb throwers animations set for the start.

I did just the way you describe
Also I tried slingmen and they don't work as well
To be precise, the issue with triyari is that they try to fire, no animation plays, they just stand trying to start fire
Slingmen have a different issue. They have a firing animation and all, and that's good
The issue there are no projectiles and no casualties.
To sum up, I don't know if these two issues are the same.
Some time ago I tried to create my own mod for slings, but I haven't found right animation in the base game, so i abandoned the idea, because I didn't want to start to get into how to create own models and animations.
Also I should state I use another mods, the main is Darthmod (just wonder, mb the issue is from it, Ill try without it and then update the comment)

Triyari have very low arc or fire, basically their preferred terrain is flat/mostly flat or downhill position. You might try running custom battle with 1 Triyari unit against 1 unit of, let[s say, Yari ashigaru and test it there. If it still does't work then something might have bugged out.

Mod is great, but the most desired thing -- triyari -- doesn't work
These troops function only as spearmen, no slings usage though

No problem! I just said Otomo because they have the cavalry for the donderbus, so I figured they would have some sort of "line infantry" training, but whatever you choose to do I'm sure I'd end up enjoying. Thanks again for the mods, they are really good. :)

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I started with the idea of making somewhat different units, but truth be told, there are not many ways of exploiting game mechanics for greater purpose that come on my mind, so running kinda dry at the moment. Will probably still focus on adding faction specific units, for at least few more factions. Donderbuss could add some variety to gunpowder units, infantry ones. Maybe not for Otomo but some other factions. Might actually use it for something I'm currently testing out.

Loving both your mods and hope you continue with the other factions you want to. I read your comment about how you are trying to add something completely new (like slingers), and was wondering what your thoughts would be on Donderbuss samurai/ ashigaru? Currently the Otomo have the donderbuss for a single cavalry unit.... Idk why but I always liked using them dismounted and would love to see them as infantry, but that's just an idea!

No plans for DLC clans for now, as I find them quiet unique as they are, to some extent.

Initially that was the plan, maybe not all clans but some of them. Idea was to add at least 5 units per clan which would differ compared to current units roster and so will it make a clan more unique. Then, if you eventually use units for all the clans you would know, "Aha, these have advantage with this, those with that", and so on, basically they would balance each others. Currently, I don't have that 5 units minimum reached for any clan. I'm trying to, well, make something different, ie: in this mod I implemented armoured pikes, and slinger stuff, it's not some mind blowing innovation, but it's not present in game. I didn't manage to make some animations work and basically unit is either abandoned or reused for something. In the end it all comes to tweaking stats, that's why I tend to play around with uniforms a lot so it visually fits with stats. Considering that I'm kinda short with time makes it even more difficult to play around. But, eventually something might come up.

would you do a mod like this for each clan, giving them all some more unique units? To make it more balanced, because this way when the player plays as the Oda they are just a massive powerhouse with Golden Dragons as main infantry

Truth be told, I have no idea what are the statistics of Radious units considering I didn't use the mod, but according to what you said it's units overhaul mod which is story for itself.

Balance of this the mod is based around vanilla units. Idea wasn't to make them overpowered, but to make them fit into the game the way it is.

Using the assets available in assembly kit it would be possible to make something that looks like Shingen. As you said there are some mods with that, though some appear to use custom made armor parts which people actually spent time designing, but whichever is the case they look good.

Anyway, I have some uniforms/units ideas that are stored somewhere and might eventually be turned into mod or something. Among them are some that are cavalry inspired, or said easier way, meant to be part of Takeda. But, due to being busy with other stuff I'm not able to spend as much time as I would like to on that. So as I said, at some point in time, something might eventually be done or even someone else might publish something like that. Still, thanks for suggestion, it's nice to see people still having interest in the game itself and modding.

Think it would be possible to do a takeda elite unit based on shingen's armor, theres even one mod with it in but its only for the historical battle it would be so fun to play with this mod, ultimate armies for the ultimate nemesis. "was thinking the tigers of kai" after wat they called shingen. i understand that may be easy said than done but if u did it it would be really cool addition to the shogun community

Trying out something different, game's limited asset variety makes it more fun, to some point. Not that I ever have project or something. Usually it comes to the point where I'm wasting hours, for no specific reason, trying to mix up uniform that looks interesting, then it eventually turns out into something.

Uhm, ok, I've just tested it in campaign, and recruitment for each unit is working as intended, nothing more nothing less. Considering that no one has reported similar issue so far it might be some kind of overlapping with some other mod, if you are using any. Even though, non of the tables that mod consists of changes anything in existing game, only adds new data.
Again, if you are using any other mod try disabling anything bu this one and then testing in game, then re-enable other mods again.

why does it say I need kenjutsu mastery and the max sword dojo to recruit golden dragons as well as naginata and and armoury? I haven't gotten to that point yet but I was looking through the tech tree.

It's doable, yes, but I'm trying to focus on adding something different, kinda hard when there are a lot of mods out there that brought great stuff over the years, but still . If I add slings to all of yari ashigaru units i get the, same... but different... but still the same, situation, which is out of my concept, at least for now.
