Most of the configuration stuff happens in modinfo.lua , in modmain.lua that config is pulled from modinfo.lua and used in config. You can use my mod as an example if you want.

it would be much better to make them require a spesific crafting station in my opinion like the one in ruins can be used to craft the depth dweler and the lunar altar thingy can be used to craft the lunar ones but its still a nice mod and thats just my opinion

he can craft them right of the bat, you just need the materials and that's pretty much it :P
