"Winter Contingency: Firefight Demo (Alpha 0.2)" will be released on Steam Saturday June 26th at 12pm PST. It adds Firefight mode to Winter Contingency where you must survive as long as you can against endless waves of Covenant units while raking up a high score. In addition to this new game mode this update adds the classic Halo Reach Skulls for you to activate as you wish and modify your game experience. Finally all air units have also been reworked to match Halo's universe. Take Command of space ships ranging from single seat fighters to massive city destroying Cruisers.

The Firefight demo will be a new separate Workshop upload. This demo will remain up for archival purposes but will not receive any future updates.

God, if that menu screenshot is legit, I congratulate you on managing to make it look exactly like Reach's menu.

I would like to add that all the techs take 1 day can you fix that.

This is a bare bones demo release. No Story content will be added till the Campaign release late this year. That release will have a more typical HOI4 style story mode.

Really fun mod, it lacks in the focus and event department (ie would be cool to have an event where some of your troops mutiny and cause a civil war that you need to quickly put down). But the map is really well made and I enjoyed just looking across it (although there's a bit of a bug with offensive lines at the land connections on the very edge). I was really surprised when the AI actually did naval invasions, I was really not expecting that which was really nice to see. But most importantly I had a lot of fun playing it. Just gotta find some friends to play with for an even more fun game.

Our next demo will introduce Covenant units and Halo Tech to the game along with a new game mode Firefight.

id be fine with the count down going from 75 days, if the opposing teams were closer together or if the player's and AI's respective armies were quicker, other wise its a race to who gets the most points on king of the hill, and a race on who gets the first few points on the other modes, if the time limit is changeable then im not sure how

Plus my mod has more subscribers so I'm pretty sure that grants me custody of Master Chief or something. They can see him on the weekends if they want.

Are you referring to that Halo Battle of Earth mod? That mod is dead, factually speaking at least i'm pretty sure. Had potential but I doubt we're going to see anything after nearly 3 years of silence.

Just doing my late night mod browsing. It’s nice to see a halo mod since I recently got back into the franchise.

From what I recall from the Halo lore, the UNSC was outclassed in space due to the sheer technological supremacy of the Covenant but on the ground it was a much more even fight. It'll be interesting to see how you do balance and tech for the full mod.

Winter Contingency will only feature the Planet of Reach.

Are you planning to model the entire galaxy or just a planet?

How will naval combat work?

Launcher sucks. Use mod tool in launcher to create a new mod folder and and put the WC files into there. That usually solves it
