Eyyy, I have little problem with lightning. Its not serious problem but it destroys a little look of game. When I takes lantern and I walk to corner of tunel or wall (like in cave in demo) shadows are not working. Any ideas?

What if I jsut want to cut out the minute timer and what not, and just have a simple set up where you do certain tasks or events is how it will see it, and it swaps to the next stage of daylight or night time? I am just trying to sort out how to make a morning, noon, afternoon, evening, midnight set up with very basic switches for each so I can just code each event the palyer can do to swap out the lighting. And well the lighting effects would be neat to have as welll.

But I don't want a timer, and iffy about day counter. I just looking for a simple way to flip through like that morning, noon, afternoon, evening, midnight, repeat system for my game. Its basically gonna be the same maps for the entire time I am just gonna cod a bunch of event chains in that change peridically and want those switches so charactors move through out the day, and the lighting matches it.

This script is beatiful! But I have a problem. In maps indoors I wish it were not dark when night falls. Example when entering home I wish it was always day although we 4 am

I don't really understand how this works. It says to download all I have to do is subscribe but nothing is downloading.
Is this something that will only download if I have bought the Rpg maker vx ace on steam?
Because I bought the one on their website.

I think you have to learn more about the RPG Maker VX Ace and how it works. There are pdfs that you can download at the developer's website. I suggest starting from there and once you read all those then you can take a look inside the demo script and acccess variables, switches, scripts, etc. I'm sorry but I no plans for video.

these 3 looks good but i have no idea whats doing what or were the varuble coming and going from it benn better off if you made a video and put it in the game for some one like me explaning what all does even the varuble but fore all its worth 5/10

Managed to get my game to start again, without all the scripts of course. Subscribing again to try again, this time on a copy. Determind to figure this out, really thought I did.

I don't know what I did wrong, but my game won't even start now after adding the scripts and everything I'm pretty sure correctly. I've tried deleting the scripts and events and everything I added my game still won't start I'm pretty pissed.

You have to set the tilesets. Refer to this (Additional Configuration for Khas Awesome Lighting Effects) instruction.

Hey Momo, I stripped the content away and took the lighting and D&N scripts and the resources for them from picture's etc. just wondered how I get the lantern to work propely because I can get the bubble light to appear around me but I can't get the beam of light that bounces off the walls.

Yes it is possible using I think the move command, you can direct where you want them to go at certain times. I tried it but I decided to remove it it's kinda messy to implement at least for me.

Is it possible to make some kind of "moving" transition when the NPCs are moving to another place during times? Like, when it's night time, they're going home, but in the demo they just went missing. I want something like in Harvest Moon games where the NPCs are shown to be going home (walking) instead of just instantly teleporting. Is it possible to implement this?

@76561197998775097 Don't worry that script is optional. Go to the scripts window and delete that particular script then delete the 'Encounter' event on the OUTSKIRT map.

After I figured out how to get it working, I woud have to agree that the seven shades of lighting is the best. I found it a bit dark and toned it up a shade. I have to say, when you apply the terrain changes to trees and have glow bugs flying around them, it looks AMAZING at night. Its a shame I can't remove the clock from my intro cutscene, but that would be my only downside. I'm sure theres a way to do it, I'm just not up to speed with Ruby.

I'm on version 1.5.0 of my game, but it won't be "finalized release" for a very long time. sadly it won't be able to be released on steam since it would be an "A/O" classified game. you're welcome to add me on friends and I'll give you the website link.

and this game is taking even longer due to the fact that I've pretty much ripped all rpg aspects out of the program and made it far more simulator-based with custom coding. imagine how complex The Sims games are, but with substantially more content and an actual storyline. then double that complexity and you get an idea of what I'm up against.

I do have the software in my library if you look at my "all games" tab or "recent games" tab, and I have well over 1,300 hours on record using the software and that's not including offline usage of another 600 hours. as for trying your script, I did and it does exactly the same thing my coding does in the editor, with the difference of using a lot more variables unnessicarily.

that is only for the day / night system with 3 variables. unlike most coders out there I don't use a ton of variables for one simple thing and I recycle them whenever possible.

in case you're still confused: that means more resources are kept free, coding becomes more powerful, and file sizes stay smaller while producing more effecient results. when you reach the 1,000 hour plus mark on VX on a single project you'll realize the more you recycle your variables, the more effective an in fact, easier it is to code and debug.

@@76561198027720083 Good for you but Khas is an awesome scripter and his Awesome Light Effects is currently the best lighting effect in the RPG Maker scene. Selchar's calendar script stores date, time, year, etc in variables. I'm not impressed with your 3 variables because that badly limit your option unlike Selchar's 9 variables.

not to be a party pooper, but I've achieved better effects with my chronos time event that actually fades the lights as needed on set time intervals. and with only using three variables.

I don't think that variable does anything at all. I think the author forgot to remove that comment when he/she updated the script. I don't think it's possible to hide the HUD window as of now without modifying the script which also makes implementing the future update harder.

Hi. I've downloaded and installed it. I have a cutscene at the beginning of my game and the clock is visible in the corner and I don't want it to be. I saw this in the script #This hides the clock on maps marked in TIMESTOPPEDMAPS if true.

But how do I put that in a map to hide the clock?

Same error I think. Haven't encountered that error. I suggest that you download the official demo [www.mediafire.com] and refer to it maybe it will fix your problem.
