Gay marriage still disables achievements, hardcoded, refreshed on save.
So it even survives savegame manipulation.
Then you have to either create, or be a part of a religion that accepts same sex relations
Now, by any chance you have any plans on making a same-sex pregnancies mod?
(Before anyone says it, I know, I know. Not historically accurate, not even biologically possible, but if we can have a Lord of the Rings mod, and a Vampire The Masquerade mod, then a same-sex pregnancy mod is not so farfetched)
For those that do not know, you can now enable gay marriage + concubines in the game rules before starting a new save.
Either way for now if you want a playthrough where you're trying to get pregnant / be impregnated by members of your sex play in debug mode and use the impregnate command. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk, you are now breathing manually.
And it works. I haven't tested male characters getting preggo but based off of this https://www.reddit.com/r/CrusaderKings/comments/44lyx6/crusader_kings_at_its_finestmen_can_get_pregnant/ I'd say it probably works.
Getting a child to become your heir is also a workaround I've thought of, but I'm waiting pretty on the Royal Court DLC so I can cook something simple up for both adoption and same-sex marriage - as well as dissecting an Event I found in a Dev Diary that deals with adoption so I can learn how the Developers themselves scripted adoption instead of relying on cheating the game's system which could break or fall apart at any time.
When the Royal Court DLC comes out, there's going to be an update that will lighten the restrictions on Modders with marriage - allowing same-sex marraige to be moddable. I've had same-sex marriage coded into the game since this Mod's release, however I disabled it because the chosen characters would never marry because it's against the source code and didn't want people to think it was a bug.
1) With the mod "Daddy Pika's Cheat Menu" you can "force adopt" any person in the game to become your child and you can designate any person to become your heir. Check the mod to learn how.
2) With the mod "Clone Creation" you can at any time create a clone of any person in the game, chose the clone's age (for this purpose I would recommend "baby") and then chose it's dynasty. Check the mod to learn how. But be aware that the mod's author states that a clone will not become your heir. But this could be achieved by using the mod "Daddy Pika's Cheat Menu" and designating the created clone to be your heir.
I know that these workarounds are kind of cheaty. But I hope this helps until Queen Quack makes these things possible in this mod (by the way: thanks for this mod! Nice work so far!)
I will not explain how to use CE. You will have to figure it out yourself.
Workaround:
In game, pause time, bring up the character screen of the person you wish to marry, then tab out to CE. Enable master-script on top of cheat table, then enable "Find Selected Character", check that the name shown in CE under "Name (Short <15)" matches the name of the chosen character, then enable "Misc info ==>" and there under "Gender" you double-click on the shown gender and switch it to the opposite.
This takes immediate effect. Tab back to game and propose to that character and wait until you are married. Afterwards you just switch his/her gender back.
You now have a fully functional same gender marriage which should cause no bugs in the game. You will just get no children. (...)
The mod worked for me when downloaded through the workshop.
(I don't know if any of this information will help the developer/community, but here it is.)
Mods Installed (In load order):
1) Historical Figures
2) Community Flavor Pack
3) Ethnicities and Portraits Expanded
4) CFP + EPE Compatibility Patch
5) Nameplates
6) Gay Concubines and Consorts: Updated
Version 1.4.4 (Azure)
MP Checksum: c354
I have no idea why this doesn't work for some people. It doesn't even work for me when I download it through the workshop. I've asked on the CK3 Workshop discussion page about it, and didn't receive much help either.
The mod only seems to work when in the documents/paradox interactive/ck3/mod folder. I've spent a whole week trying to get this mod to work through the Workshop, and it doesn't.
The only way to install this mod is manually, and I had thought I had posted a link to do so but that's gone too along with the last week or so of changes I made to this page.
I've no idea what's going on with this Workshop page, but it's enough for me to just delete it and reupload.
I suspect you'd have to convince Paradox to expose the necessary functions for modding, first.
