Doesn't work, colonists end up unarmed after chaning policy even though the weapon is available. They don't check for their loadout properly.

Man really wish I had this for 1.3. if I had the skills I would pick this up as an unofficial posted mod for 1.3 and claim no credit beyond updating .. all I want is a mod where my pawns auto find/equip weapons from a loadout like setting armor and clothing restrictions. Like saying pawns 1&5 all equip firearms but ignore bows and so on

Sooooo, If you are using other mods that allow sidearms and tools, make sure to set the weapon class of your "non violent" colonists to" Pacifist" in the weapon tab. Only my non violent colonists about broke the game after picking up 20 weapons into their inventory. 5fps. They wont use the guns, just hoard them. But changing that option fixed the problem!

Thrumbo horns don't count as a melee weapon with this mod, forcing the pawn to drop it.

I feel like I'm missing something central to this. I get the weapons tab, and can see the loadouts. But when I drop with 10 steel knives and an assault rifle, my pawn doesn't pick anything up unless I tell him to, and if I tell him to grab the knife, he doesn't seem to trade it out for the assault rifle. Was that not a valid test?

Does this have support for the specialized weapons used in rimworld of magic/Kure's Rimworld of Magic Class Expansion Pack. I ran into an issue where class's that use the spec weapons would discard them after a couple minutes resulting in them being unable to use their skills rendering them effectivly usless

Is it possible to make it compatible/integrated with the mod "better pawn control" ? I mean, it's a policy/assign as well, so it would make sense.

It was awesome inventory. I changed that setting and the drop/fetch immediately stopped. Working as intended now.

Might be related to simple sidearms. I think I fixed it by removing all the weapons from that mod's hotbar.

How slow does it get for you? I'm using the tps counter and it gets to the point I can't get about 80 tps with 40 people. Is there a strategy you use to reduce the lag per chance?

It's been my experience that you don't, or at least I've never had a colony that large without slowing down, even in vanilla.
That said, others might have had different experiences.

Do you play with very few mods? What about animals? My computer is decent so I do'nt think that's a huge factor unless yours is godlike.

I am trying to set up the load outs. Hunters use the compound bow or whatever for hunting. Then I have front ranged (accurate, powerful. usually crossbow because why not?) and rear ranged (long distance, faster like the long bow or sniper rifle).

But in every game, the hunter goes out, hunts, brings carcass back, then take their weapon back to the stockpile. Sometimes they pick up another, sometimes not. I get the "hunter lacks weapon" notice, make 'em go get it again. Rinse, repeat.

And at least one colonist per game will drop their weapon to go get another, see their dropped weapon on the floor, decide it is better, equip it, then drop it again. over and over. Had one pass out from hunger as she went back and forth between two tiles.

They do this regardless of how many options I give them.

How can I fix this?

I can confirm that this is not compatible with Weapon Stats. Is it possible to add odd melee weapons to it, too? Like Thrumbo horns, elephant tusks, wood pieces, beer bottles, etc?

I really like this. Unfortunate to not have simple sidearm compatibility, as that's a "must-have" mod for me. I'll keep a close eye on updates here :)
