Guys, the OP just hasn't explained it properly. It works perfectly.

To access the mining Drills, go to your P menu then devices. in there search from Drill and you'll see two drills.

click on a drill and on the right hand side, click "Access".

you now have access to a drill, repeat on the other side.

you cant make everyone happy, i guess xD

for a mining vessel hands down one of the worst ive ever had.
as for piloting also one of the worst.

it doesnt have a scanner

thats because i use mining-turrets, not the front-mounted mining-laser... they are located at the belly of the ship, just park the vessel above an asteroid and have all possible angles covered by just 2 turrets, the will be activated via the P-menu under devices...

How did you make the mining lasers independent? I add lasers and they end up on my quick bar, I would like to use them in the way you have set them up.

I added two more containers for ore in place of grow plots, still good on thrust :)

It needs a lot of thrust, imagine all inventorys full after a long mining trip...

Tank you bobo8734, the original idea was to use the glass floor for positioning over the asteroid, but that didnt worked out pretty well^^

small thing you want to pay attention to is the heat/radiation. since it's 1 block distance from the source the growing plots next to the wall will not work.

No, i think they are useful in reforged as well. It's just my personal play style changed. I get my ingots from looting poi's now, So i haven't had the need for a proper miner yet. Some like to mine, some like to take poi's, some like to trade. So it all comes down to how you wanna play :)

ais the CV-Miner a Vanilla only thing? are they useless in reforged?

Looks awesome, sadly i have been to long in reforged. So i have lost a lot of basic knowledge from vanilla. I did really enjoy to have a dedicated CV-miner when i was playing vanilla tho. So it's a very useful vessel after my opinion :) That interior and over all design is just mind blowing!
