Yeah its a little more for the advanced player wanting to specifically curtail their experience than a really solidified design/role

looks awesome but it's useless and replacing the frames to make it work well is complicated

But need more energy or energy storage

For making curved plates Id say a lot of it is experimentation, but an easy way to toy around with it is start with a very elongated triangle block on its side (mirroring helps as it'll come to a point eventually like mine do)

Basically knock off the same number of length. Say you're using a 20 x 1 x 1 triangle/edge block. Each block forward knock off like 2 or 4 to its length and you get these really nice curves.

IE

20x1x1
16x1x1
12x1x1
8x1x1

its hard to showcase sadly but it wont be a perfect circle, instead you'll get these nice wedge/sharp shapes.

@Harubus: have to agree with the below commenters. Your designs are crazy good, you should work for the sci-fi industry. It's almost unbelivable how beautiful they look.

One question as a new player: do you have any guide to recommend to learn to make designs like this? Making curved parts to me is still impossible >.<

@Haurbus: So I checked out a few of your ships a few days ago after looking up the highest rated/most subbed mods on Avorion's Workshop. Now I've switched to looking up the mod catalogues of individual creators, to check out some of their other work which may not be so high rated because it's newer or less well known.

And I've just discovered some of the absolute STUNNING stuff you've been releasing in the last few months, such as this and the Acropolis class. Dude, these ships look spectacular! Their smooth design cues, and discerning use of neon, look so darn good! I gotta say, imo these are some of the best looking ships on the Workshop right now, awesome work!

Hey Bushman82. I colour code the framework/Mesh not for specific blocks, but to just give distinction between them when viewing. It's really hard to see how much framework is on a ship when they're all grey kind of blurring together so I make them distinct colours just for spotting them easier.

I don't have(usually) any configurations in mind aside from largest framework in some ships being cargo on RIA ships. I usually will build 1 really large framework for cargo containers to get the most efficiency out of them if the ship doesn't have a cargo bay to start, or for upgrades.

Hey Haurbus, can i ask what you use the coloured mesh for? i understand it is for upgrades but do you use certain colours, like green for shields etc.

Also i subbed to another collection of yours and half the ships have old in their title, do they still work or should i remove them?

Hey Tharisdan. If you subscribe to the ship. Whenever you go to "build mode" on a ship, you'll see a save icon on the side. From there, there's a folder that says "Workshop Ships" where you can find ships your subscribed to. Mine should be in there and if you have sufficient resources, you can just build it there.

I'm sorry, I am new to the game. I have subscribed to this in the workshop but I have no idea how to make it in game. I do not see this ship as an option to make

Yeah Ericlnu I thought that might be the case. I might just remove those hangers then and put some bottom mounted ones. Might be best solution.

I hate to poop on the parade, but there's one small bug with this design. Fighters don't path well with the hangars where they are, other than that, I very much enjoy this ship :).

I think it's a fighter issue more than a design issue, but I could be wrong, either way. I've watched them, and they seems to have issues with obstacles, like navigating corners, hence the "bug" in the design.

You need to be playing in a non-creative map. It's an option when creating a Galaxy. Otherwise any issues you're having there I dont think I can troubleshoot.

Hey CEO. If you Subscribe to the ship. It adds it to your saved workshop ship designs. From there in a normal playthrough you can pay the ship cost and build it out of any existing ship you like.

how can i get it out of creative mode?
