Well that was unique! There was a lot going on there & it definitely made me think. I liked how when I was stumped at one part I could go work on a different part. Especially loved the bridge/laser concept you had going on. Thanks for mapping! Here's my blind playthrough.

Very elegant puzzle, altough the glass maze section is frustrating to navigate, maybe add light indicators or rework that part to make it easier to tell where to go.

I do, just play whichever you like, I try to make hard ones; with few obviously easy runs for beginners.

Oops, I forgot you guys here, could you try my old maps using the same set starting with recent Same Difference use a timer to time your blind run. Same Difference is probably my utmost, I can only replicate my solves if I were at my best.

Oh an unrelated note, how do you summon the reflectives from console? It is evident the wings are fine, so I rather just skip them.

The puzzle has been updated! I'm now 99.9% sure that players must solve it the intended way :-)

You are welcome. Re "there's a hidden stairway" - when I was "exploring" I noticed it, but when I came to do the walkthrough video, I completely forgot about it xD I'm intrigued as to what the intended "finale" is, but I'm still not going to look at the video, yet and will have another go. Let me know if/when you update it.

Oh nice! That's an interesting way of doing the finale. I intended it another way. I might update it since it is supposed to be more challenging.

Also, I hadn't thought of placing the first cube like you did onto the grating. Actually, there's a hidden stairway in the room, but I really like your way.

Well I’m not one of those people who “absolutely love or hate this chamber”, but once I’d spent about 10 minutes exploring the map, solving the puzzle itself was interesting and quite good fun, so thumbs up. I don’t want to look at your video yet, but, as per normal, I’m not absolutely convinced that I got your exact intended solution ?

Thanks for your playthrough! I will fix that unintended solution this weekend. It always amazes me how some people are good at finding ways to work around puzzles! Yet, it seems so evident now that you're pointing it out.

You missed the fun of the light bridge challenge at the end 😛

Well, I'll just show my 3-cube solution the pre-part is just same as Peter's own walkthrough; this is really just one notch next in line for convergence-divergence laser play; years ago someone started out symmetrical, few weeks ago someone else did it i-symmetricm, this puts ref cube i-symm too.

Good, but too trial-and-error for beginners, the maze part is Red Herring , at first I thought entire no-fizzler wing is Red Herring but only when I stand on the exit ledge I realized it needed 3rd cube to have laser lines converge at the main foyer , a bit of guru skiill needed to get the cubes out.

UPDATE NOTICE:

3 issues have been fixed, as identified in sheepdog's playthrough. These include:

- Portable surface that allowed portal bumping removed in bridge-puzzle room.
- Grating that allowed skipping part of the maze transformed into glass panel.
- Portable surface that allowed skipping 2/3 of the puzzle removed in the main room.

I only needed two cubes to solve the test, so only half of it needs to be solved

UPDATE NOTICE:

- 3 autosave points added at key locations when obtaining cubes.
- Exploit fixed where cubes from the right handside rooms could be used to skip part of the puzzle in the left handside rooms.
- A second exploit fixed in the left handside rooms where extra portable surfaces could be used to skip fizzlers while traveling rooms.
- Light strips added to bring the player's attention to important areas.

its a meh for me. not bad i just think it's a little too big.. also that maze isn't really my style, and that fizzler part was hard af too you did fine but next time you should try and simplify it HONEST

Hey Feral! I'll think about how that could be done. In the mran time, you could use F6 to save your progress whenever you want, much like a check point. And F7 to reload.

I was really digging it, but then I fell into the water and lost all my progress with the cubes :'(
If there's some way you can implement checkpoints so that doesn't happen, let me know because I'll definitely try again!

There you go, issue fixed. For some reason, Portal 2 stopped allowing symbols to show on the same wall as the laser catcher, so I had to move it.

Thanks for playing my map, I hope this did not discourage you! Rest assured that all triggers are limited to their areas or adjacent room.

Oh for some reason the symbol seems to have disappeared! Look into the other room, there's a machinery symbol that's still there. I'll fix the symbol thanks.

@Unicron, I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but they 're all supposed to have antlines (in the main room) or symbols (in the other rooms). Have you tried searching for the corresponding symbols? Or watching where the antlines go?

I'm a bit confused as to what one of the laser receivers does: it has no markings to show what it does, and every time I activate it, I can't see what it does

Well, it is a medium challenge. I wouldn't say it's too complicated as some puzzles are truly a headache out there. But I understand you may be looking for something easy.

Of course! Here's the version I'm using. There are other versions, but people say this one's the best because it has fewer bugs: https://github.com/BEEmod/BEE2.4/releases/tag/2.4.36.1_

Here are the steps to install it:

1. Download your desired version of bee2 (the one I sent you)
2. Download the corresponding package (this one https://github.com/BEEmod/BEE2-items/releases/tag/v4.36.0)
3. Extract the bee2 version you downloaded in a folder of your choice.
4. Extract the corresponding package, and place its package folder in your other folder.
5. Run Bee2.
6. Link it with the Portal 2 .exe file by following on screen intructions.

Thanks for the comments! I used the bee2 mod editor. It's a separate program linked to portal 2 that changes the items available in the editor and controls compilation options.
