I messed with this mod on a server about a year ago to see if I could design a progression system that was more guided. The mod has the fillstore command which puts RANDOM schematics into the store. Is there a way or could you possibly add a way to put SPECIFIC schematics into the store? I want to make a scenario where you start on earth and the only way to earn money is mine, assemble and scavenge by selling to a vender. Then using that money to buy the schematics to obtain upgrades to eventually get off planet to the moon where you sell specific ore or items there and have access to better schematics and so on the further you explore.

Store prices are incorrect

For example, if a store says a datapad is 500,000, it will only actually deduct like 2,000 from the player

I have tested this on a fresh world, no other mods or settings changed, and it still happens

Hello, after finding some drawings they do not appear in the planner or disappear at an unknown moment. I’ll say one thing for sure, I didn’t load or close the game when the drawing disappeared from the planner. (the datapad does not disappear, but stops activating the drawing in the planner) I’m playing with mods, but maybe the problem is known and mods don’t affect it? The build is quite old, but it worked before.

I been playing that same game with your mod for about a month, everything was fine but I recently stop getting any schematic, I cant figure out why... any reason they would just stop spawning? im single player and I miss a lots of them, more then half

This is meant to be added after you’ve decided which other mods you want to use. It will add the new entries to the config list, but you have to manually add them to the locked list if you want them there.

You can add them to the locked list, and then delete them from your player config (just run the game with the new block mod once, exit, update configs, then load the game) which will make them locked.

@pixelateddrake, had the same idea for a scrapyard scenario and testing with just the progression mod, i can repair blocks, tested removing batteries and i can grind them down and fix them again

@Endo Yes, progression is off. I thought about it some more and perhaps is the issue i'm having that it was off prior to adding it to the scenario? It was the Scrapyard scenario, and since Splitsie's block restriction mod is no longer working, I wanted to swap it for this system instead along with a few other tweaks.

Side question, will this allow you to repair blocks you haven't got a schematic for, just not build them? If not, is there something I can edit to be able to do so?

Really love this mod, but would it be possible for blocks that are added after install not default to be always unlocked? After adding it to a scenario I setup, all the modded blocks and majority of normal ones all seem to be unlocked by default. I assume this is partly intentional and requires a hell of a lot of pre-setup? Regardless, it'd be great if things defaulted to needing to be found outside of basic categories like armor, etc, instead of default unlock.

I figured out a work around for the refinery issue by grouping the research. On the other hand I can get the schematic into the store inventory but I dont know how to make it register it to show for sale. I sent a friend request on discord.

I'm trying to make a store block (or multiple) that has all the main schematics in it so that they can be purchased instead of found. Is there a way to add a specific schematic to a store block other than random 10 to 15? Also was trying to get the vanilla refinery schematic but everything I try creates the industrial large refinery instead.

So sad. Research mode and its trees are so cool, specially with MES and AQD Vanilla Ore Distribution, but you're kinda forced to avoid any combat since you're very underpowered at first and forced to grind the magnesium that is so deep...
Encouraging players to take risks and hunt a bit more, hoping to unlock a breakthrough research like Large Grid Ore Detector or Large Grid hydrogen would be fantastic to keep it fresh and interesting. Oh well! Thanks for answering :)

I wouldn't recommend it as they both track progression separately. It'll cause conflict.

I thought I'd give this a go, but I'm really confused by the usage:
-Things in the AlwaysUnlock section are still showing up as purchasable datapads and loot. Why? They have no use.

-What does AlwaysLocked section actually do? I still see datapads for these items show up in the store. I figured this section meant that these items would never be available.

hi guys, am having an issue with the mod, it works for for days and all of a sudden it stops spawning data pads in POI's. is there a way to trigger the mod to spawn data pads if this happens?

hello i use the mod in our server and when remove some mod it aways remove the spawns for shematicks and we dont lnow how to get them back

Does this also work for NPC mods? Or is a custom spawntable required to make it work?

I just tested and it worked fine for me. Do note that you CANNOT use the command on vanilla trade stations as Keen monitors those internally and does not allow mod interaction.

Thanks for that note - I've been investigating a similar issue, but in truth I believe it's due to *when Keen changes the file path for the Save.* Your files are still being generated, but they are in the SE Install Dir / Content / Custom Worlds folder because that is where new games are defaulted to until sometime during first load.

Interesting note: This mod likes to be last in the load order. I have several other mods installed and it didn't properly generate the .cfg files until I put it last. It loaded BlockRaritySettings, GridsContainingSchematics, and ServerSaveData but UniversaBlockSettings and ResearchGroupSettings were missing

Okay so it's being saved properly, but there was an issue with how I toggle them with the admin commands. I've pushed a fix for that :)

The SE log will show the cause of the crash, I happen to be a contributor for MES so I can fix the issue on either side. Please hop onto discord so we can chat more about the error.

This mod was just the thing I was looking for our new server, thanks for coming up with it!

But sadly having it and MES and/or any similar MES/non-mes encounter mods together crashes our server. I believe it happens whenever SH tries to spawn a schematic inside a newly created grid by another mod. As I have seen the connection loss notice popping up at the same time with the discovery message.

I can spawn schematics myself on "ground" and inside shops I placed, and locking of technologies parts do work as intended too. Only frequent crashes when this mod is on, and none when it isn't.

its pretty stupid not to have the smelter and solar panels unlocked from the beginning it makes it impossible to progress at all

"BlockDefinitons" vs. "BlockDefinitions" typo got me when generating ResearchGroupSettings.cfg via a script. Using "BlockDefinitions" will cause the settings to be cleared on world load.

There is definitely a log created by the mod. It'll be in Saves/../WorldName/Storage folder. In that log it prints what all it finds and if there is an issue.

there is no log from the mod and its just straight deleting the group
