For example, take the diagonal block beside the diagonal window like in your station. their side which connect them is sealed for the diagonal window but not for the diagonal block. The result is there is no air leak thanks to a sealed side of the window. So basically there is a minimum of 2 sealed faces on the 1x1 diagonal window you used.
Now between the interior and the exterior, all four other faces are sealed because you would like to orientate the window to have the tinted side inside the ship/station or outside without having air leak.
The issue you met in your case is just SE doing his job, but not with the best method even performance friendly.

@Spaceman Spiff: I don't think it's a bug, the sealed property of tilted diagonal windows are very useful to build more conventional sealed cockpit designs like the front of this ship, as window glasses are modelled as cubes (like everything in the game) where one or more faces can have the seal property. Same for large grids by the way
