so is there a way to make them stop moveing when they have enemy contacts are attacking them? i know the assault maker can do that but that pain to deal with for large attacks. can you maybe add something to do that?

I can't really do anything to increase the radius. It's all based on what the default Source function can do. It should work better on noded maps but even that has limits.

Thank you for making it so there aren't any toolgun sounds/effects, got really annoying when setting up roleplay scenarios on the go.

I'd have to do a custom system for that as I don't recall any base functionality for throwing grenades in HL2. I'll try to look into it!

@supermarioben2 In case you're still interested, I whipped something up with ai_goal_standoff - where NPCs can be chosen to stay behind battle lines and can essentially protect a region you create. This was actually used in Half-Life 2, namely in maps d3_c17_05 (where you storm a metrocop barricade) and d3_c17_07 (where you protect the plaza with Alyx). Hopefully it suits your needs! I might play with this myself, actually.

@desired a couple of those addons that do just that already exist, I don't know if you're able to create it given source's limits but maybe a system that makes npc's try to "protect" an area on the map instead of just going for the kill could be cool

Thanks, it means a lot! Right now I'm just trying to figure out what STool to make next that's preferably to do with NPCs, like allowing control over Combine Soldiers to throw grenades or creating a path for air NPCs to follow.

Huh, that's strange. I'd have to say it's something to do with the in-built pathfinding and it fails somewhere along the way, or the system just has a limit. I'll try looking into it if I can fix that issue.

I've been playing around with this, and I really like it; it's especially useful when it comes to doing machinima, as it's much easier to click on an area to have NPC's run to it than to try and animate them doing so. My only critique is that the range of the npcs is quite small, even on maps with nodes, and where the terrain is relatively simple. Overall, though this is still really useful!

Try reinstalling and it should work. There was a broken version while I was fixing up the tool information and while fixing an error with moving dead selected NPCs. Not sure why it hasn't updated for you, though.

Well, i actually didn't assume it was stolen, but I did think that one addon did it better. I suppose your add-on could be better than the one included in the npc tools pack.

From my experience, the mover on NPC Tools did move the NPCs but I didn't see them attack while moving and didn't see enemy NPCs attack them; it was the incentive for me to make my own NPC Mover. I can understand why it looks like I blatantly copied it, though.
