Still works
Sorry for getting back to you so late. I have done some digging and it seems that the problem with the old leader remaining as the dynasty head is because there is no way to remove house heads, even with the depose command. Dynasty heads are chosen from the house heads that have houses with the most power, meaning that for the heir to become dynasty head they need to be a house head, for the heir to become house head the current house head needs to die, or a cadet branch needs to be created. I could implement an option to "Abdicate and create cadet branch" but that would be a hard cheese of the game system. I may even be wrong about all of this and overtime the house head may change to the most powerful 'landed' member, as the dynasty head does with house heads.
Whilst I did pickup this idea due to SlightlyProductive abandoning his mod, I do not plan on allowing the player to force others to abdicate, hence not being a "cheat mod".
'Abdicate throne'
'Abdicate throne and dynasty leadership'
I'll look into that
Really annoying to have my unlanded dad be the dynasty and house head. He’s just having a good time, going to feasts and spending time with his grand kids and I don’t want to murder him just to get the dynasty head title back.
That is, when some manner of impairment and/or their heir has higher stats than themselves, the NPCs have a small percentage to decide to abdicate their position in favor of their more-qualified heir. The higher the difference in stats, the higher the likelihood of abdication.
Might keep the game more dynamic, as players would have to try and predict whether the target of a plot is going to actually be on the throne for much longer or if it is better to suck up to his heir.
As I am new to the CK world and the modding scene, I feel the need to expand my knowledge of the game concepts, limitations and the games language.
By exploring other areas, I feel like it is helping me to understand it all better.
As for finishing this mod, yes. In fact, I would love the community to provide suggestions for what they may want this mod to be able to accomplish.
