That is a steam bug , sometimes the download is broken. Unsubscribe the 777-9 and subscribe it again. (sometimes you must do that more then 1 time) and try it agian. Then it should work. PS: make sure you have the right 777-9 , i think there are also some others in the workshop.

Although I pre-downloaded the B 777-9, it says 'missing'...

i think (but not 100% sure) you also can download all missing mods(aircrafts) at the status , in game , at download missing mods.

at Airline mods you always need also the aircraft mods , without it not works.

If yes , unsubscribe all , and subscribe them again , sometimes the steam download is broken. But the mod works , i just tested it.
