Is there a version for use without ACE? We are a group of 3 and ACE is overkill for us.

Hey, this is a great concept. I was thinking, what if you made a similar mod where whenever you access your backpack, you character unclips it, slings it around, unzips it, and rummages around, and then a reverse animation to put it back on. As an additional function, make backpack items completely un-accessible unless you access it through inventory, adding a restriction so that you can't non-stop chuck the 20 grenades you put in there (not saying that has happened to me). Possible even make it where to access your backpack, instead of using inventory, you have to use ACE self interactions menu to do the animation to pull it out and access it. Would also improve ACE medical, as large items like blood transfusions would be too heavy for vest/outfit, so you would need to drop your pack next to the patient and do an animation before you can access it. Just thought I would mention it, because the idea seams really appealing to me for creating a more realistic and immersive environment.

Is it possible to get this mod to work with Sweet Markers since its one of the best planningtool for preplanning operations for our CO? Atleast that seems to be the issue when all the markers show up on all the players maps during our events.

hey Lax, if you ever get the time please considering releasing a stripped down version of this favolous mod without the ACE requirement and that just shows the characters holding the map while their map is open without any additional funcionality (so Ace is not needed).

So basically there would need to be a check if the player is in the process of boarding a vehicle before your map & animation fires.

Hey there! Found a bug - tested with RHS M1A2 tank:
When opening the map while boarding the vehicle (= player is doing the mount vehicle animation), the player holds the map in front while inside the vehicle seat. In this case, I was the driver of the tank, so the map was blocking the tank driver optics and obviously the driver was doing the "holding map" animation so he was visible thru the tank.

Yeah, echoing what Laura said. You can't change settings in the editor and when you do them in game they change back. It's quite annoying, especially since we can't fix it ourselves and reupload.

Small update, even when trying to force settings in the server it just resets to default as soon as the server restart thus you cannot change the settings at all.

Hey, is there a reason why you cant change the settings in the editor inside the mission directly?
For example I want to disable the option that allows interacting with maps, this setting only shows up in the server tab while in a server though, not in the mission settings directly?

Ohhh that is great to know! You deserve a good position and respect indeed! I guess we will see your content now being officially added which is always better for the vanilla gamer and for that first Arma experience. Arma 3 required your mod + too many other mods to really shine. Hopefully BI with a revamped team can remove that over dependency on mods. Which you the best!

This is Reforger features but done years prior. You never cease to amaze LAxemann. If I was BI I would have rewarded you with the "Legendary Status" among the likes of KK, Leopard, R3vo, Haleks, Grumpy, Alias, Dedmen and now also Webknight. A3 wouldn't been the same without you! PS: Why isn't this on ACE 3 by default by now?

So, How are people using this mod? I asked LAx how to disable chat channels so we can have individual map markers. But we all still see all players map markers still. How are you using this mod? (we are playing on a dedicated server with the server and all players loaded with the mod)

this is so amazing thanks for this mod. I have been looking at other mods as well like the table top mod that shows a specific portion of the map your doing your missions on but those suck up so much FPS. this is amazing to see. I think this should be in DayZ as well would be pretty cool to have in both games.

Hand-drawn markers are supported since a few versions, the latest one even added an option to export markers and import them via script, so you can draw something and people will have it in their map on mission start :)

Now you just have to make it work with drawing lines too and it truly will be immersive! Saldy I know such a feat would be too much work and likely not properly compatible with the game engine.

Can confirm, same issue as below with the map bugging out in open state. Pulling a map from a corpse can also spam duplicate the map causing fatal injuries to the player.

can this be used with sog praire fire or does it have to be a particular map (normal map or sogs map) or either? how do i perform the action or will my character just do it when i press the map key? thanks you in advance such a cool idea

I'm getting the issue intermittently where the map will be stuck open and I can't get rid of it, even if I drop my map from inventory. It usually happens when I open map in a vehicle and when I get out it's stuck in my face. It happens whether or not I had the map open while exiting.

Only way to stop it is to leave the player slot/respawn.

Afaik there is no global config for that, but you can put the following into your mission's description.ext:

The mission TRGM managed to have an option to turn off shared markers and you'd have to be in proximity with each other (iirc) to see other's local markers. You could see if you can find anything useful there

Any one who knows:
We are trying to figure out how to disable side, group, global, and vehicle chat marking in order to have to rely on this mod. We are testing on a dedicated server. We cant seem to be able to find the parameters for the .init or anything to force vanilla shared markers off.
