@simsonic321 I was this EXACT same issue. What I did was disable the author mod, then renable it (which put it at the bottom of the list?), reloaded my save, and *that* seemed to fix it.

I'm still a bit confused; are you sure the Author is the only mod you have modifying your reason skills?
Base-game, the only slots on the reasonskill cards are the "Lesson Learnt" slots. The Author mod adds "Crossroads of Imagination" slots to the reasonskill cards, increasing by one slot each level. These slots can accept Reason or Passion cards. The Author doesn't add any other slots to the reasonskill cards. "Write Whatever Comes to Mind" isn't a phrase for any recipe chain I'm familiar with

Apologies; Profound Scholarship has 2 Reason slots, 1 Reason or Passion, 1 Inspiration, and 3 Crossroads of Imagination, whereas Silent Intensity/Rarefied Mind has 4 Crossroads of Imagination slots and nothing else.
This means that, among other things, level 4 Scholarship skills cannot Write Whatever Comes To Mind, which, while admittedly less efficient than painting, is still a useful way to manage Restlessness without exhausting Passion.

Silent Intensity seems strictly worse than Profound Scholarship (4 Crossroads vs. 2 Reason 3 (effectively 4) Crossroads), despite being the upgraded form (haven't tested with Rarefied Mind). Am I missing something? Because otherwise this seems like a pretty major oversight.

For some reason my Scholarship never has the Job aspect (And thus can't be used for working) no matter what I try. I've reinstalled both achieveintegrations and this one, and stripped my modlist down to the bone. Is there a glitch or am I actually just cursed?

Please ensure Achieve Integrations is loaded before this mod; this should fix your issue

Installed mod and began a new playthrough. When I attempted to upgrade my reason, when the countdown finished it didn't give me my cards, instead the cards stayed and began to rapidy rise in number. I exited the playthrough, and tried to reenter, but it said my save was corrupted, so i purged it and started again. The same thing happened, and after five seconds i exited the game, disabled this mod, and went back in. The game let me access the cards again, 170 Skill: Scholarship cards and 171 Reason cards.

"Bowen"means "Erudition" in Chinese, i think kal‘tist’s lover mean they'd tried fuse two erudition into Reason skill but game crashed. just happens came to ask a question then solved minutes later myself

Hi kal'tist's lover, I'm not sure what a "Bowen" is. Chinese is your first language, right? Could you post the problem in Chinese, and I'll ask the person who translated for me to let me know what the bug is so I can look into it.
In the meantime, double check that you have the required mod "Achieve Integrations" loaded before this mod to see if that fixes it.

@Superjw I figured it out, at some point while I'd stopped playing, you added achieveIntegrations as a prerequisite. I got updates to this mod thanks to my subscription, but Steam didn't give me any notice about achieveIntegrations being required now.

@superjw - I have just the Author installed, and I created a new save. However when I try to unlock my Intellect by combining my first two Erudition the Research verb "jamns" at 0 seconds left, and never unlocks. My Mind card is generated in the Research verb, but another one is added every game tick, over and over and over, creating thousands of Mind cards locked up in the Research verb.
What can I look into to troubleshoot this?

Some guy who plays games, do you have other mods that modify the Rarefied Mind skill? I have four slots that accept either reason or passion, and you can start writing with any combination of reason or passion, provided you provide at least one of either.

Sorry, I've been busy the past month or so. Sağ Alttan Çıkan Hüseyin, when you removed your mods, did you start a new save? If not, the save likely crashed because of that. Removing mods without starting a new save will almost always cause bugs because the save file contains references to things that no longer exist in the game files.

Hey, with Skill:A Rarified Mind, you are only able to use 3 reason and 1 reason or passion. Is this intentional? Because the one before it had more slots available.

I had other mods before so I tried without them but unfortunately the bug happened again. When study ticks down to 0, it creates an infinite amount of reason. And if you save and try to go back to the save, it is corrupted.

Hi, I haven't had anyone report any bugs with creating the reason skill. I don't think this mod changes how it's acquired. I'll try to check this evening after work, but do you have any other mods installed?

Hi, I am having trouble studying erudition to create the skill. Is it a known issue? Anytime I try to gain any more reason Study skill is stuck at 0.

Hi Merlin, The update to Achieve Integrations in September would be the reason. Perhaps your version of Achieve Integrations was outdated until recently? Regardless, a new way to modify slots was added in the current version that allows multiple mods to change a slot at the same time, rather than only one mod being able to do so. Achieve Integrations and the Author have both been updated to use this new format.
I upload all my mods and Achieve Integrations to Nexus Mods, which allows you to install old versions of my mods. You can grab the old versions of them from there, but other than that legacy support isn't something I plan to put effort into for any of my mods going forward. Thanks for reaching out

I went ahead and checked if the Work Verb would take the Card in the current version of the game, and it does, I have no idea though what could've possibly changed within the last week to cause this.

Hi, I was playing The Professor when I noticed that the Work Verb wouldn't take the Scholarship anymore, although a week ago on a different save it was still working.
To check if it had anything to do with other mods or my savefile I uninstalled the game, deleted all related files and unsubscribed from all mods.
Then I reinstalled the game and resubcribed to only achieveintegrations and The Author.
Still not working.

I am on the legacy version of the game because I hate the UI changes, but since that was already the case when I played last week, I don't think it's at the core of the issue.

I was made aware of this late yesterday; it's due to an update with Achieve integrations. I hope to have it fixed when I'm free later tonight. It'll be a few hours yet

This is no longer working. Working actively blocks scholarship, so the writing job is completely unavailable. I tried this even when restricted to AchieveIntegrations, The Author, and The Professor as the only mods active.

I upgraded it with the erudition leasson learnt + a secret histories lore, it took everything and it spit out some erudition but it didn't upgrade my skill and it took my secret histories lore.

It shouldn't. What do you mean by disable? Are the slots not showing up? Or the recipe can't be started? Or the card doesn't upgrade after the recipe ends?

Is it possible that your mod disables the last upgrade to the reason skill line?

Hi TimeCloneMike, I'm not getting any crashes when I try. Do you have any mods besides my own (and Achieve Integrations) installed? If so, which? If not, I'd like to see the player.log file for when the crash takes place; the lines right before the error throws will tell me which recipes were running that could have caused the error

For some reason I get crashes when I try writing with all slots filled with passion cards. Mixing reason and passion I don't think has given any problems. Have not tried writing with all reason cards yet.

You are correct; if this mod loads before AchieveIntegrations, it doesn't work. I didn't realise it was load order dependent, but I just updated it and it shouldn't get overwritten by AchieveIntegrations anymore.

I am trying to use this but every time I use the Reason skill with Passion or Reason, I get the vanilla Work actions for those cards instead of the Author mod.

Is there a way to actually make money with this?

Just to say that the mod was fantastic to play in terms of rolelaying. My primary source of income was still painting but I could swap to writing some research or poetry from time to time because it makes sense. The most you know about the occult arts the more you are prone to produce accurate essays, for example, about it.

That makes sense if you've loaded CS Extended first. If CS Extended is loaded last, all bets are off. Regardless, glad you got it working!

My mistake, it does work with Extended. I just forgot to activate the mod lol.
