@Potato I looked into the files for the portrait customization gui (barbershop), and it seems to have a set list of accessories that can be customized in the given character. I couldn't find the file where this list is located and if it cannot be modified, then one cannot add customizable accessories to this list which the barbershop employs. It's possible that the barbershop may be limited to whatever options are there already, at least for the moment.
I really wanted to add the mask as an option too.

Is there any way to add the mask to the hat section of the barbershop?

I'd like to use this but as @Sam stated, it breaks trait localization. It may be because you need to rename your trait localization file to something else.
