I could swear this mod allowed pawns to wear simple/flak helmets along with the industrial gas mask, but they keep dropping one for the other when I try to force equip.

This is one of those only mods that I know of to reduce effects of gas in the Gas Traps And Shells mod.

hi i seem to remember reading something about ratkins only being able to wear ratkin stuff, but that a patch was made to allow more stuff.

There is a conflict and cannot wear a helmet. Maybe it is possible that I used the Ratkin mod?

I checked the trello link and unfortunately Rimfire is low priority :( No worries though, it's just good to see it's being worked on by somebody! On behalf of the Rimworld community, I thank you all for your work ;P

@Meakin I can take a look at it but I think RimFire is already on the list and Project Fallout is off limits for us. If you want to know more there is a Discord and a Trello board liked from the collection in the description above.

Also, Project Fallout is also a glorious mod that it's a shame to be without :D Just some ideas!
