I'm looking at this and I'm guessing that's an advanced rotor part so it can be piped through some conveyor tube to a large hydrogen tank with a large thruster on the bottom. The armor looks to mostly half slab style stuff. It obviously took a long time to get the look just right. A lot of love went into this ship as a whole.
