I enabled the spellplague event and when I chose *not* to play as the emergent faction, all my units disappeared, my own cities turned red and the turns kept passing without me getting to have mine. Kinda fun if you just want to see a timeline the world progressing in real time I guess

Does anyone have the previous version without invisibility bugs, without assassination and where you could play the elven nation without crashing?
I don't understand the point of this update to kill the best mod in Civ and abandon it right after.

I'm trying to find a way to play this amazing Faerun mod in multiplayer with my friends. Anyone know if there's a way I can do that?

@Sidious there seems to be an issue with Cormanthor and its ability to uproot its capital city and building coastal buildings on seaside cities.

For now there doesnt seem to be a fix though you could try digging in the discussions above.

Soooo.. I love this mod and have played it countless hours.... Went to start up a new game today and was on turn 141 and it keeps crashing at the end of the turn. Any advice @framedarchitecture or anyone else? Tried a lot of the troubleshooting advice on here and still no luck.

Please get hotseat working on this mod but AS WELL: PLEASE either grant me choice to turn off the time victory so I can keep playing indefinately, OR just remove time restrictions alltogether! Pretty please...?

Has anyone finished/completed a playthrough with this mod?

I tried this several years ago and could not get it working properly (and yes I installed it per instructions). I came back and installed it (only Faerun sound/graphic/BNW) and this time it worked...for about 90 turns.

CTD, reload, then "Error x64: could not load graphics___" for about several things, followed by a 2nd CTD.

Is this mod just outdated or has anybody got this mod to function properly in the past few years?

Is there a way to have JUST the civs and nothing else? I mean, I do like the mod but I always will prefer the classic Civilization V with some mods on top without any total conversion. I mean I suppose you could just edit it out somehow but then the civs (or some prospects of them at least) wouldn't probably work correctly, eh?

Thanks @framedarchitecture for giving the solution against the assassination ability. This ability can really be hell and could almost kill all your pleasure in this game ! I had 2 IA using it against my capital repeatedly, preventing me for completing wonders, hindering all other cities abilities, and so on... So I moved my capital twice (building Annex), pushing all resources I can to make it grow faster, but even with that, it was a pain in the ass... So thank you so much for having given us the tip to disable it.

I can't get the mod to work at all. All of the text is completely jacked up. Always start as 'America' and crash to desktop as soon as I try to settle. I have no other mods loaded.

TSL is not working for me at all. I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Has anyone else had this issue? I haven't seen much discussion on this.

The enemy heroes go invisible and untargetable. Truesight/Foresight doesn't work and they just bombard my cities endlessly despite being unable to capture it. Sometimes stuff like backstab/poisoning works on these invisible units but it's a bit gamechanging. Otherwise it's really well done. Thank you.

For those just picking up the mod - be aware that there is a bug (as noted on the CivFanatics forum and experienced by myself) with the Elf Race - Cormanther - that causes the game to crash on some simple conditions that will likely ruin your game. So when you play I would suggest you NOT allow random enemy civs becuase the crash can happen if those are chosen by the computer as well. Just choose a random assortment to fill your 8, 10, 12, etc slots. I haven't experienced any crashes since I started doing that.

Wow really loving this mod - so sad that I missed it all those years ago. One question - is it possible to upgrade units (like Maceman to Macemen *)? I have my Maceman in my city with Barracks II, but no option to upgrade.

This is literally the only game where I feel the mod entirely supercedes the base game. The only reason I keep coming back to Civ 5 after all these years. And really appreciate the mod author keeping it alive in the discussions!

Wanted to ask, are AI mods incompatible with faerun? Thought I'd spice things up with crazy aggressive AI.

I do in particular remember requesting Eilistraee years ago, and getting an excited 'that's a great idea' response from the author at that time. I do not recall if that was you in particular, i do not know if this mod has ever changed hands. But, well. Shucks.

To eliminate the assassin ability:
1. Navigate to Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Faerun for BNW (v 19)\Database
2. Open file FS_Spells.sql with a text editor (e.g. Notepad)
3. Go to line beginning "SELECT 'MISSION_WORLD_KILL'"
4. In that line change the -2 to 0
5. Save the file FS_Spells.sql

I love the mod I and appreciate all the work that the designers put into it, but there's an assassination function that kills off two pops in the capital each time the AI uses it. In addition to the damage to the city's economy, oftentimes this ability results in some tile improvements and wonders being unable to be worked on for dozens of turns due to the civ being pushed back a capital city size level.

There seems to be no defense against the AI using this ability, and it amounts to being the victim of a nuke every time it is used. It is extremely irritating, especially when I am trying to play a civ that starts in a slow-growth starting area like Damara or Thay.

Please remove assassinations from the game. It does not add to the enjoyment of the mod at all and it is a major source of frustration.

@bclund I declare war and wipe out the offending civ. Seems to have done the trick. I know The red dragon civ was assassinating me and calimshan. One war each and they both dont do shit anymore.

Did we ever find the custom unit animation that causes the crash?

Mod crashes to desktop randomly after a few turns, does anyone have this problem? What mods do I need active? Do I need the G&K patch active?

Great mod. Only thing I find messed up is that strategic resources don't get used up, so if you got 1 mount, iron or spell book, it's all you need to make unlimited units.

After not playing this mod for a long time, I tried it again and apparently it has changed a lot. The AI keeps using assasination on my citizens and since city population is so important it is a very OP move. How does this new mechanic work and what can I do against i? Using a spy to protect your city does not seem to work for me.

Does anyone else try to play gnomes but cant get past the first turn because of the choose research button? I choose research to do but I cannot go to the next turn.

Am I the only one whose game consistantly crashes whenever I choose to let the AI control the spellplague faction?

Not sure if others have been experiencing it, but I've come across a game-breaking bug. I can't capture capital cities. Unfortunately due to this, I cannot progress and beat the game.

also can someone tell me how to do the whole pilgrimage thing? cause I can't seem to figure out how to do it?

just played through for a Good alignment victory and have noticed one thing. unit upgrades after a few are acquired it keeps trying to upgrade and nothing can be clicked cause the banner ends up hiding behind the unit info panel. can we please get a fix for this?

would it be possible to get an update for this to work with mppatch so that we can use it for private multiplayer game hosting and such?

yeah this pretty good you have to make sure you have no other mods showing up delete any folder for the game before install or you might have some bugs like I did ( i had folder in the background that did show up in steam but were in the game that caused problems). yah this is a good mod though. years later. My only pev is subjective the level up on heros Id rather have items drop and you equip them than this system. If you level up and its a weapon you dont want you are stuck with it. The bosses and this game are way powerful and you are a ranger hero you need an army to take them down because your hero is not going to do it alone.

does anyone know how to get hotseat to work for this mod. I've got advanced setup it works on other mods but not this one. was hoping to play with my sister so its a bit disappointing

So I gave another shot and it ended the same: crash at certain turn. however, after replaying the save, I was able to make some more turns but eventually crashed anyway. I believe some event screw game up. I could provide the save before crash... doubt there is a support in 2k21
