I'm making some great parking garages now - thanks! Two things: they generate a *lot* of traffic, haha, and what's with all the seagulls? I tried looking with BOB and I can't see what's generating them all...

I can't get the elevator building working, it won't connect the pedestrian paths. Guess I'll make a spiral staircase with ped paths instead.

@Lord trust me, I think a lot of us depend on the Loading Screen Mod. It's essential for sharing textures between assets in this instance, so it loads one file instead of a dozen or so copies of the same file. Can make what looks like a 100mb network mod way smaller when loading! It doesn't auto-subscribe any of the dependencies. Decal prop fix still works but it's included in algernon's Prop Anarchy which is still maintained, Network Anarchy 3 replaces both Fine Road Tool and Road Anarchy, Loading Screen mod is replaced by Loading Screen Mod revisited, Move It is still active. The top 4 are props and decorations for it - it'll work without but won't look the same.

So when this pops up with "additional required mods" and you click continue, it won't auto subscribe all those dependencies? Thought it kinda forces it on you.

@Lord This works just fine. Mods are not required, you can use Road Anarchy as a replacement. Please follow the Plazas & Promenades DLC Compatible modlist.

I assume this doesn't work anymore? All those required mods (one deprecated?) and some seem to have issues. Especially confusing is the loading screen mod (why depend on a loading screen mod?) which now has a giant "incompatible" warning on it. :(

@propermike - there is an issue with level 8 parking, some of the parking is too smal in size, like for small cars, also the parking marking dont go to all levels just 2,4,6 and 8. plus there is some wierd ramp on one part of the end of the 36m inner road (no eleveator 36m road)

I just made my first garage and i'm impressed of how relaxing it was, after an hour i noticed that there is a little problem with cars collision boxes , when there are two cars on different levels (2 and 3 for example) they behave like they are on same level and move really slow. This is game engine problem but i write this comment because maybe someone have a solution.

Sasquatch, It depends on how much time you have. I always stick to rectangles myself. That doesn't mean that's all you can do. The great thing about these is I don't know everything that you could possibly do with them.

Let's hope they do a CS2 that fixes some of these things, it's definitely been popular enough! It is a shame that you can't do this in the asset editor but I will definitely put some time aside and have a go at building one in my city. I am currently trying to fix all of the my public transport at the moment after a mod I use updated and created an incompatibility

@propermike also thanks for your response. When I watched your videos I wasn't sure if you needed the emergency call phones to enable emergency service vehicles to get into the structure or something.

That I can understand, the limitations of this game when it comes to detailing can be frustrating. Thank you for making these assets anyway, I really enjoy them :greasemonkey:

I almost stopped making them when i realized this about the roads. I was excited that people would be able to share garages on the workshop...oh well. I'm glad you like them.

It's probably something like that. I did some more testing and the game has no issues with a single layer of roads at any elevation, only when they are stacked at 3m intervals. Also you can plop or load the same asset multiple times and the game will mangle it differently each time. To me this confirms the asset is saved properly, it's just the game messing it up in a random manner. Too bad, I would have loved to put my parking garage design on the workshop.
On the bright side, I love building with these roads, and (re)building each parking garage instance manually has already lead to some creative results that I probably would not have made otherwise :hardhat:

Has anyone else run into issues when trying to build a parking garage in the asset editor and save it as an intersection? As soon as I try to use it in-game, or even when loading it again in the asset editor, the roads are all tangled up like spaghetti in a tornado.
Other than that this mod is awesome though :hardhat:

@ onlyonepinman - you can make a car park without the parking spaces, but no cars would park there. The call boxes are just props. Many large parking areas have them. They are just props and serve no real function "eye candy".

@propermike - Hey I talked to Chamëleon, the solution is simple: in the asset editor there is a flag 'Accumulate Snow', if this is set, snow will stay on the assets.

@ t1a2l - that is strange. I never play snow maps, so I didn't catch it. sorry about that. If i can find an easy fix for that I'll let you know. These were a lot of work to make, so if it involves remaking all the parking lot buildings. That may not get fixed for a long while.

@propermike - Hey, the parking spots on snow maps appear as a blocks of snow (cars will still park but the snow is permenant) (ground floor is ok, but the rest are not).
