I'm having the issue of my guy/the Arcane Bladein general being a bit on the squishy side. That, and he basically has no mana. Also, do you know of a way to get this class to be recognized by the Rapid Respec? I just want to change the difficultylol

My stats currently, using 10 stats/level up mod, is 200 Str, 200 Dex, 100ish Focus and 50 Vitality. Using a 800+ dps longclaw sword (due to enchantments/damage gems). I am focusing entirely on arc blade, lightning rush, debuff shout, chain lightning 50% chance proc on hit buff, and the +damage per nearby enemy buff, with earthbreaker as my aoe. I dash in, debuff shout, earthbreaker, out of mana, pop pot, spam dash/arc blade to clean up. If i dont finish in 8 seconds, i gotta pop another mana pot, pop earthbreaker/etc again, and usually by then, after 10+ arc blade spam/2 earthbreakers, my charge FINALLY fills up... after everything is dead. <_<

A fair amount of the class's skills are lifted from the vanilla classes and I did my best not to tweak the numbers too much. Arc Blade (the skill you're talking about) is pretty much the berserker's Cleave skill, but applies an electric DoT instead of a physical (the bleed damage). I believe Cleave is intended to have a reduced charge generation rate due to it being an AoE as well, so I left that in on Arc Blade. As for mana steal, I'm not 100% certain, but if it works on vanilla skills it should work on most/all of the Arcane Blade's skills as well.

Getting a full charge bar hasn't been too difficult for me. Mana expenditure hasn't been too big of a deal either (most of my active skills are no higher than Rank 5, so low-ish mana costs). Then again, I haven't done much testing at high levels (highest I've gotten so far is about mid 30s) so I'll have to take a look at rebalancing some stuff when I get there.

Just out of curiousity, what specific stats/skills are you focusing on?

Well, so far my arcane blade has hit level 52 with no issues now. Fun as hell, to. Though I do feel like im becoming more and more of a mana whore (going mix of melee dps/tank hybrid, just for the dodge/attack speed, damage reduction passives). Like, just using 3 spells and im out of mana and gotta chug a huge mana flask every battle. Its also becoming harder to get charge, as the lightning cleave (Forgot the name atm) is like, nah, you get like 1% charge for using me. I clear an area, go to the next, its all gone. I get more charge just using my auto attack. And this is with up to -8% total skill cost enchantments/items. Does mana steal apply to any of the blades skills?

Hey all. Just got done spending some time going over the Arcane Blending stacking issue again. Turns out I had missed a typo that was preventing the affix from being properly removed. Should be fixed now. Enjoy!

I love the class, fun as hell but, alas, the damage passive is bugging for me to. Before I realized the bug, I was already up to about 600% damage or more from rank 1. Im considering re-rolling without taking a rank in that particular perk, but I feel like its a major thing for the class. : (

I think the problem is the fact its listed as a buff with a duration of permanent. Most passives do not actually show up on your 'active buff/spell effects'. So everytime you change your equipment, the old, permanent buff stays behind and a new one re-applies, stacking with the old.

Had the problem exactly same as GTD, and tried to adjust it by doing the same method as mr1029384756.....but does not seem to be able to bypass the bug...

@GTD-Carthage Have experienced the same bug. I managed to negate it by equiping a shield and then de-equiping it. Worked liked a charm and the bug hasn't been back since.

Hmm. The only thing the code checks for on equipment is that your character's left hand max damage (or armor value in the case of a shield) is less than 1, as in nothing is equipped. Changing other equipment shouldn't have any effect. What other mods are you using again? I'll try playing with them myself later and see if I can reproduce the issue. I have a feeling it might some some obscure compatibility thing.

I created a new character and once again the bug is still happening. I am always being caught unaware of when the bug strikes as I pretty much soon realize a quick equipment swamp (even on armors) has resulted in a huge spike in damage. If I had more time I could help do some focus testing and see exactly when the bug happens. :(

Yeah, went back through the code for Arcane Blending and I think I had the affix removal parts set to the wrong levels. I went ahead and made those changes along with a few others. I'll publish the update shortly. Let me know if it still gives you trouble.

For the record, I have two characters with their Arcane Blending at rank 3 - I created a new one earlier this morning that reached rank 2 but wasn't able to recreate the problem (so far).

@GTD_Carthage and Oddman84 I had a simular problem with bulwark on a mod I made (By simular it sounds to be exactly what was going on and exiting the game fixed it). Be sure to include affix remove section for the arcane blending passive. Just glance at how Bulwark is programed to see what I mean. I think that structure is needed for many passives to work right.

Oh, and prehaps it's just a rank or two of the passive (was my case). So GTD, It'd help if you told'em the rank you had the issue with.

@Oddman84, after playing again for sometime the bug seems to have happened as well on a new character - I am unfortunately not quite sure how to recreate the bug. Worth noting though is that the massive damage percentage pileup from Arcane Blending disappears upon exitting the game.

@GTD-Carthage, that's really odd. I'm running Synergies and Torchlight II Enhanced and I don't run across your issue. I published an update earlier today that made some significant changes under the hood to how Arcane Blending works though. Are you using a character that you created beforehand? I've noticed during testing that can be a source of trouble sometimes.

I'm currently having trouble with one of the passive skills - Arcane Blending. Everytime I try to unequip/equip a certain item, all my damage increase percentages continue to increment non-stop all the way into the thousands. The only mods I might have anything to do with it would be Synergies, Additional Item Affixes and Legendary Add-ons.

@united98765, I think you need to restart the Torchlight II launcher each time you subscribe to a mod. It should download any updates and what not each time.

While playtesting yesterday, I happened to notice that Dimensional Dervish (essentially a clone of the Berserker's Rampage skill) can be maintained nearly indefinitely by using the class's Charge mechanic. This seems pretty broken to me, so I'm likely going to make some changes in the near future.

I'm considering altering the class Charge mechanic to only grant 50% mana reduction and give some minor bonuses to damage, attack speed, cast speed, and move speed to compensate. Alternatively, I could replace the skill with something that hits just as hard but has a cooldown. Any thoughts?

@davidsntn71; I can't speak much for Far East, but the class mostly uses modified versions of vanilla skills so I don't foresee it being terribly OP in an unmodded game.
