If there is any bugs, please report them. I did test it throroughly, but could have missed something, or something might have come through game updates.

This is probably my favorite map. The balance, the atmosphere, not too easy but not too hard, it's great!

Thanks. I could recreate the problem. It froze the game for some reason (need to force quit the game; reboot was not needed for me).

Likely something broke in a game update. I just recreated the reset zone, and pushed an update, and the problem went away. :steamthumbsup:

I don't know if anyone else has ever said anything. Hole 9 caused my whole game to crash if it was failed.
Like soft locked to the point i had to restart my pc. I fell into the fire and it soft locked and the next time i fell off the edge same thing. Don't know if you ever plan on looking at it again just thought you should know Mr. Author

@BlackFloid: That would be a completely different map from scratch. And 50x the amount of work at least. It would be very cool though. So if you can make that, then you should definitely do it.

In this case it is just a regular plain/casual Golf It! map, surrounded by a sattelite-photo based model of Everest to give it a some nice scenery (instead of just a boring flat plane). I didn't promise more than a view in the description... ;)

@thomerilou: lol. By the way the texture is roughly 8000x5000, and not made by me, so it was the largest size I had. With some effort I'm sure it's possible to find higher resolution sattelite imagery and divide it up into several separate textures.

@Inconnu_exe: The peak of Everst itself is the one you are pointing towards at the end of hole 18. The more distant landscape is cheating a bit, by duplicating and rotating the model of the mountains, so there's technically 4 copies of Everest (to cover up the horizon, and avoid having to have a larger model or covering it in fog). And yeah, I've never climbed it myself, and playing actual golf on the peak of the real Everest would indeed be a terrible idea. :P

This theme has so much potential. So many dangers like avalanches and rocks fallin from above on the course, crevasses to jump over, windy areas, thin bridges, shaking ground, breaking ice and the most killer finale with the 18th hole on top of the everest with that insane lookout.
Dude I hope that you'll update this and create something that has all the special magic to it.
And I don't wanna be too mad here, maybe you just wanted to do some casual stuff, but if you ever want to update this - I'd help you do it from scretch ( I can even make you real snow covered mountains and the damn everest in scale ~ 1:100 and ofc without that foto) just write me. I'm serious.

There is the Everst en fond d'écran, but where is the Everest in the map itself ? I'm sure that you never climbed it and i can say that golf in the mountains is a idea d'attardé. THE TROUS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH.

This map is so bad that i got nausea during one week. I had to go to the hospital because i had eye trauma and i did vomit on my keyboard because of the everest.JPEG with 144p so i had to buy a new one.

That's why I nearly never use 3D-scan models, cause the textures are always too bad for detailed playing near to them ;-) On my Hate-map there's a model of Mont Blanc... terrible ;-)

@Illi-Noize Agree. Unfortunately the 3D model isn't detailed enough for that so had to keep it a bit at a distance. I relied on a single free 3D model of the mountain. And the dimensions and open landscape makes moving to different locations hard unless I shrunk the mountains a lot more than I already have (physics stop working correctly beyond a certain distance). Perhaps keeping it all to one specific location on the mountain (e.g. basecamp) would have been better (but I had no good model for that). I thought about using events to move the actual mountain to different locations depending on the lane, but it would be a major hassle.

All in all, it is a simple map from a technical standpoint. 18 lanes with a pretty view of Mount Everest.

Investing the amount of time to implement you suggestions would have been nice, but would have taken way too much time for me (and I'd have to create the assets myself most likely, and my 3D skills are no good). I'd likely never have finished it. :D

In "Two Forts" we were able to play directly in the forts, that was very nice. Starting from outside with "drunken sailor" and getting inside - exccelent! On this map, Everest ist just all the time far, far away and lanes are flying somewhere random in the air - why? No reaching the top, no change of weather, no reaching base camp or higher camps, no Hillary Step, no "green boot", no Sherpas or any animals, problems with rubbish and so on. So many wasted chances... So in my opinion "Everest" as a theme of the map has a little bit failed. I would have preferred if the map theme would have been "Climbing Everst - 18 holes to the top" and not "Watching Everest from far away". I know that there is so much effort in this map... but I am sorry, this one is not my favourite ;-)
