for some reason, i cant control direction of the turret; the rotors dont move for me :(

You can try to take apart the turret and find a structure like this:
One rotor unit is connected to two rotor bases
This structure is the key to breaking the speed limit

Just from looking at the barrels, i would assume that it breaks the speed limit with come "funky piston action"

Good lord, this is a surprisingly powerful weapon. Against ships that are fairly heavily defended, it seems that it can slip by defenses, and even confuse the turrets enough to allow for shots to slip on through!

This blueprint breaks the speed limit in vanilla, so there is no need to use speed mod
