This is a very cool drilling ship, I'm just in awe of it!

I run heavily modded, and I downloaded this ship because of how good looking the workshop page is along with it just being a very pretty ship. Because of this heavily modded game, however, this ship can barely fly with a full inventory on Earth. Great ship, but we've now assigned workhorse industries as a meme in our discord server of being a "DeWalt brand ships". They look pretty, but barely ever work! (This isn't a complaint, still love the ship, its entirely my fault it barely works.)

been using this since 2023 one my favourite ships to fly i have 2 on charge,

a couple quick questions first being how does the projector repair work and second mouse input does nothing i can fly forward back up down and strafe left and right but nothing else

October 2024. This Miner still works. I added extra batteries and a small reactor to this beast and now it fully runs for over 3 hours of non-stop mining. Tip: Slot three on the toolbar is currently empty, so insert M5P Connector Bottom into this slot and set it to: Switch Lock .

Then you can click this button to lock on any connector you dock at and click again to unlock from the connector. this will save you so much time!.

Having issues with Power and overall battery, needing to convert it to hydrogen power

hello, I would like to have some additional information, how many batteries, motors and gyroscopes are there? I thank you in advance for your response and congratulations, your creations have a lovely design

It's a blueprint so it wont appear in the mods list. you can find and paste it in using the F10 button if you are in creative mode, or build it yourself by loading it into a small-grid projector.

Forgive me i am new to this game. This mod is not showing up in the mods list. What do i need to do?

You can also display workload parameters on one of the screens

put in place of small accelerators in the front and rear large ones, hide the conveyor system a little deeper, remove the middle container, put accelerators pressing down for greater control, remove the software module, remove many small connectors, remove one connector from the bottom, add simple or retractable chassis, you can add an option with reactors instead of batteries, you can also add parachutes for braking (if they really run out)

That's unfortunate. What would you say makes it not work well? Maybe I can rectify that in future builds.

very bad, very very bad, it may look good but it doesn't work well

It's a very useful miner and i like the details of the armour covering fragile parts, however it's not very tough to absorb all the damage made on a little bump with some tunnel walls, it literally destroys part of the light armor and all thrusters around where the bump's made and i was looking for some blueprints that can handle this particular issue. Anyways, leaving that behind, it's a very good ship, good work!

It is possible some conveyors haven't been fully built when you welded it and that is what causes the blockage. There are some small conveyors in between the 3 cargo containers that can be very hard to reach without grinding down a container or two to get to them.

Not sure if I have missed something but all blocks were built according to the projector when I built it bit I can't unload any cargo when docked on wither the lower or rear ports. I may have wasted a few hours building it unless someone has the answer. As far as I can see, and I am fairly new to the game, the scripts are enabled.

built it, spent 30minutes transforming it to ions when I noticed it's atmo. ofc i had to chase it when it started flying away from me. i rate 10/10.

Found some of the hydro ships you made, looks like recent builds... Thanks, now I can use you ships in space. Pt and Ur are scarce on some planets. :)

From what I can see, It is working fine. Not sure what you did not finish on this ship.. Since I am not good at design, I am going to build that M5 transport truck in space and remove axles and install hydro, if I can ... it is easier for me to modify someones work then to build from scratch.. :)

I probably should make a dedicated hydro miner for space at some point, people have requested that a few times before.

I am looking for one for space and prefer hydro for that. However, since you mentioned it, I may try modifying the truck and using it on planet. Not sure how long the hydro would last per run, though. Everything I build is very blocky. They do the job but get damaged easy.

I do have a hydrogen version of this that I never fully finished but it is functional. Unfortunately there is no truck with hydrogen tanks to refuel it so you either have to dock it with your base or make modifications to the truck yourself.

Hmm, I forgot about that.. thanks. It works fine now. :) Just started using the transport truck and the drone it carries.. took a bit to figure out how to launch it and re dock it but love it.. I will be using more of your BP's..

The only thing you need is to have scripts enabled in the world options. (click load game and go to advanced settings on the save you are playing in)

some multiplayer servers may not have scrips enabled so it wont work on those.

Do I need to download the script? I don't see it listed and this ship is not see how full the cargo is. I am not familiar with scripts and I just used the projector and Build and Repair to build this. All systems in the bar are running. Is there something else I am supposed to do?

Must be a conveyor tube that isn't fully welded somewhere.

This is awesome, I made it with some welders but I have one problem I cant get anything out of it but it will all go in... =(

I too am having the same issue as Phaenon, when spawning in this lovely beast, I can control it via gyro's, batteries are full, everythings on (tb is still populated, scripts and nice autolcd dash working fine) but nope, no go! thrusters don't respond at all :/

Not flying at all, even when empty? That does sound very strange for sure. It should be ready to go right after completion or pasting it in (tho sometimes groups and timerblocks can be botched when doing a manual build). Perhaps just turning everything off and on again could help, and check so that no thrusters have been set to override by accident.

Check the Timer block (TB) and make sure everything is set up there. It should be the systems group (toggle on/off), battery group (recharge on/off) and connector (switch lock).
The systems group containing all things you wanna turn off when docked; such as thrusters, gyros, lights and other things like that that doesn't need to be on at the time.

Hi Funky, what a great concept and it looks very well designed. I am having an issue getting it to well... fly at all lol. I have the craft powered on and there's enough power. I can even see the power usage spike when trying to vertically move but the craft doesn't go anywhere. It must be something I am doing wrong since others are able to handle it. Are there any special pre-flight instructions/operations that need to take place, or is battery power all it needs? Thanks!

I did make a hydrogen variant of this a while back for mining on planets that should have more thrust and power but I never openly published it as it wasn't fully tested yet. However if you (or anyone else) wanna give it a test run I have the link here.

If it had simply one large cargo container and more batteries that would be great. Maybe large batteries where the other containers would be and some large thrusters worked in for stopping power. It also needs to be a little more stable but other wise the drill layout is good. I like going long distance and maxing out and then flying back and my builds end up being huge because of it.

That is fair. I tend to push towards the most cargo possible within a compact ship size, rarely using more thrusters than I personally need for my playstyle and I often use my miners with some sort of mining truck next to the ore deposit so the stopping distance is rarely an issue for me.
If you do use it to travel longer distances and gain a lot of speed with a full load then I can see how stopping power and lift can become a problem.

On Earth Like it can't carry a fully load. It has too many cargo containers for one and no where near enough stopping power. It works great but you better have a ton of room to stop because of that lack of stopping power in the front. Wouldn't recommend it for that reason not much else.

Yeah it's stuck in the two side containers. Looking back the printer may have run out of motors actually..
