I press the key that I set to change slow motion, but when I use it, nothing happens, even using the arrows or pressing the default slow motion enabler of the game (tab)

to the previous few commenters - the Home key is a key on a keyboard that says "Home" - on standard full size keyboards it is in a cluster between the carriage return and the number pad, with the insert, delete, page up, page down and end keys - it is often also the 7 key on the number pad if numlock is disabled (i haven't tested that but i assume it uses the same key code) - on a laptop you may need to us the Fn key on the key that has Home written as its alternate function

this is all assuming an english language keyboard - i cannot confirm what may be written on the key in other languages

however - there are also instructions in the description and in a comment just underneath these 3 comments about how to change the key which enables slow motion (the comment section also includes a detailed description of where the Home key may be located)

hopefully this information will help anyone having trouble locating the Home key or changing which key enables slow motion

Hi, how can I pause the game and still be able to move the characters? I want them to be frozen in the air and not move

things i could suggest:

1. Check you are using the key that says "Home", and not the key with a picture of a house on a media keyboard (that is the "homepage" key" which is different)

2. open Documents\Wolfire\Overgrowth\Data\config.txt and search for "ddu" (without the quotes)
- if you get no hits then you likely haven't yet started a level with the mod enabled
- if that is the case then enable the mod and start a level
- if you still can't activate slow motion with Home then try step 1 again
- if you still get no hits then something very strange has occurred (maybe your config file is write protected)

if you do get hits then try:

3. search for "key[ddu_toggle_custom_timescale]" (without the quotes)
- it should be set to "home" (no quotes)
- if not then that is also strange
- if it is set to "home" (no quotes) then you can try changing it to something else (try "u" without quotes, since the "U" key isn't used for anything)

@dabutcherboyz - well i hope all the info you need is here - please note that i haven't played the game for quite some time - and not since they open sourced it - so i don't know if anything might have changed that may affect the mod etc - but if anything does come up feel free to drop a comment and let me know - and i hope you find the mod useful :-)

Im just reading these comments so I dont just start asking in my head when I start playing lol

the game has a built in slow motion function - but it is locked to be 1/10th of the default game speed

the game speed is variable down to half speed, but must be set from the menu

this mod allows for the speed to be varied in game between 1/10th and double speed, in increments, using hotkeys

Part 1/2

So usually (assuming an English Language keyboard) the button says Home, and is next to or above a key that says End, and on a standard full keyboard they are in a cluster with the Insert, Delete, Page Up and Page down keys, usually above the arrow keys and to the left of the number pad

if you are using a reduced laptop keyboard without a dedicated Home key you may need to use the Function modifier key (Fn) - but the Home key should still have Home written on it, but sometimes in a different colour

I believe the button with a picture of a House/Home is a key for media keyboards which takes you to your home page in a browser - and i am unsure of what you mean by the other key being a Window's key (to me the windows keys have the windows logo on them)

Part 2/2

You can always check by pressing the key you think it may be - if the game goes into slow motion it was the correct key! (and if it opens a browser or the windows menu then it was not!)

but also you can set it to be a different key in the config file (instructions in the TL;DR at the top)

also if you have an external keyboard that does have a Home key you could plug that in just to check the mod is working for you

Might be a little dumb but, which is the home key? There's 2 buttons on my keyboard. 1 of them is a picture of a home. And 1 of them is a window's key.

Oh shoot I'm so sorry I must have read right past it! But tysm bc what you said to do did work.

hey - so you have to use the config.txt file which is in Documents\Wolfire\Overgrowth\Data - then find the line key[ddu_toggle_custom_timescale]: home and change the home to g - once you've found that you should also see the other relevant settings, the keys start with key[ddu_ and the other settings with ddu_ - i will see if i can make the description easier to follow, or put it in a readme - anyway, drop me a comment if that doesn't work

ok so i think the slow motion i changed was the built it one bc i can use the home button to activate slow mo, but i cant find the Modded slowmotion key bind in the controls tab and its really bugging me

hey so this mod seems very cool but in the controle menu i changed the slow motion keybind to G, but when i play arena hitting G does nothing. help!!

well i'm still new to the game, so i am thankful to those who filled the workshop before i arrived (am about to go and look at some of their work to get the key rebinding sorted) :-)

i respect the people still making mods for this game.

just to be clear - if you see a note that i endorsed my own mod it was quite definitely an accident - i saw that the thumbs down was red and realized i must have accidentally clicked it, so then i tried to cancel it out and quickly realized that once you have taken a stance on a mod you cannot retract, only reverse! and while i like my mod i wouldn't normally endorse my own stuff this way since it should be obvious that i like it, without it seeming like i'm trying to stroke my own ego or artificially inflate my mod ratings (although i guess it's no different from voting for yourself in an election) :-) anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest - hope all those who are using the mod are finding it adds to their enjoyment!
