I believe the weapons are already implemented using a separate vendor

By own vendor I mean "fcs vendor" , not a new npc

also a good practice is to create your own vendors, so you have a definite % of items from your mod. Multiple mods can wreck vendor lists if not made this way

If in doubt, make a copy of a minor bandit/ninja group and put them somewhere obscure

I'll look in to making a second mod that does that, right now I'm working on some armour in a similar style to the weapons!

You can make it as an addon, but you can add the blades in a way it doesn't affect too much vanilla. Lets say you add it to samurai, you have to put you weapons first in order, with a low probability, and leave the vanilla on bottom line at 100 as fallback.

I didn't want to mess with the vanilla game too much, I considered spreading them around the game world but wasn't sure if most users would be interested in that
