I'm also working on new missions but it will take a lot of time ^^
The mission was indeed pretty hard due to the AI visbility (even through the storm...).
I'm preparing something for the next month ;)

I can understand your frustration. "The Aftermath" is a conclusion mission, so the difficulty is very high and the lack of means available to the player is also intended (In order to make the player understand the desperation of the situation, also in connection with the story).
In terms of visibility, the goal was essentially set to make the player advance using the few means at his disposal as flashlight, moving from cover to cover, chemlights etc. The gameplay was thus intended to be more tactical/stealth more than a simple rush.
However, in terms of AI, it is more complex because there are things that I can control like its accuracy or the objects emplacements that will be used as cover on the way to help the player. But there are also things that I don't have control over at all like its visibility during sandstorm or while being into the fog, which can be horrible for the player as you mentionned it.

I tried the mission yesterday and it worked well... I'll see what I can do to fix this issue
Some units are invisible depending the area (in order to optimize the mission while the player is away). What you encountered means that the trigger area didn't recognize you as a player wiich is odd. Have you played the mission with mods activated? I already made some changes about this issue but some mods are still persistent.
For the end, If you choose to escape, then you're the only one survivor. No one should be alive with you

This scorpion sign is in fact the flag of the Viper team, which is a special force unit. Also, the red ? means that we don't have any info about what you will find in this area.

Also the area that you have mentioned, is it at the area where there are circular structures?
For the laptop, you can find it at the helipad area, inside the military complex. It's just in front of an helicopter :)
