Please advise how to capture a target for the Harpoon missile

As of September 2025, I can confirm that Aliasalpha's findings are still true. If I have CBA and /A-18E/F Super Hornet 2020 activated, nato tanks don't pop smokes.

This is the most bizarre bug report I've ever done but here goes:

Something in this mod breaks the smoke launchers on tanks. It looks like anything inheriting from a tank base (so MBTs and the base game NATO APCs) have broken launchers that say they're firing and deducts the ammo but does nothing. Other APC based vehicles like the CSAT/AAF ones fire them correctly.

Steps to repro:

SMOKE (Just to prove it works in base game and its not BI that broke it)
1) Load game with no mods other than CBA
2) Place down a tank, jump in commander and fire the smoke launchers.

NO SMOKE
1) Load up arma with no mods except CBA and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet 2020.
2) Place down a tank, jump in commander and fire the smoke launchers.

As a connoisseur of weird bugs, this is a rare treat but it's less than practical for gameplay. It's not present in your older super hornet mod, only in the 2020 one so hopefully that at least narrows down where the issue could be.

I think it is the best version, It is admirable that it works perfectly on its own without plug-ins. There is only a small bug, when you shoot from pylon 6, it gives Ace error.Thank you all guys for your great efforts.

I cannot start the engine manually. The engine works, but the engine does not start because the 2 buttons next to it do not work. It would be more enjoyable if it could be fixed.

Hi, it appears that laser guided bombs do not go where the WSO's laser is pointing despite lining things up. Is this a known problem?

Check the description two tabs to the left. Jaentzen's skins are compatible with the 2020 version.

I have searched everywhere, but is there any way if changing the Skin on the F/A-18F, I have gone into vehicle appearance Adirondack but there’s nothing there, so I have to download them? And if so, is there any RAAF Livery?

Will there be (or is there already) an integration for data links between ground station and the targeting computer on the plane? As in an FAC/JTAC sending intel like coordinates/waypoints and other info up to the fa-18 via a tablet and maybe a special code (like the lasercode) so only the plane with the code gets the intel... Any chance?

Am i the only one who doesnt seem to be able to use the modded armaments. (aim-9x, aim-120 etc) as it only seems to be using vanilla ones. (Bim9, Macer II, etc)

@MyNameIsGeorge , I believe you can select the radar range on the MFD itself, it has two arrows up and down from 40 and down.

is there any way to change the radar range? i remember that that was possible, was it removed/changed?

@LeifJ I personally prefer the beta, but that means more frequent updates, which means it might be hard for some servers to keep up. They are getting pretty close to one in the same though.

@cpeng03d It has been a long time since I used firewills, I do know I prefer this one, however they are different jets (legacy vs Superhoret)

@Jayhot you will need to unbind your mouse/mouse axis from any flight surface controls. Arma uses a script that detects mouse movement, and will shut off Autopilot when it senses inputs over a certain threshold. (even if your only using it for freelook)

I really enjoy your work and i love flying this plane but 1 thing is really annoying. If you use the BALT in autopilot, it randomly turns off when i move my mouse to look around. I dont know if this is because of this mod but i think so. I would like you to try fiix it. Another point is that there's no missile-warning?! but thats maybe becuase of my settings :).

witch one should i use this one or the beta one ?

Flying the aircraft in single player missions is amazing, but when I use the aircraft in a server my fps tanks and I start stuttering every second. Literally 5 fps. I have tried lowering my settings and view distance, uninstalling the mod and arma and nothing. My friends get the same problem in the server. I am not sure how this happened but the server is pretty intensive.

Check for Jaentzen's workshop, he has a a ton of skins for the beta which are compatible with 2020.
