My current fix is to go into the map editor and open the map, then find where the "P2" waypoint is and move it to the corner of the map away from anything that will attack the"player 3" that will spawn there. (Make sure to prevent the unit from moving by placing terrain around the way point)
Additionally, make sure the ants will never find it either and the 3rd player can be set to an AI, the game will continue with you and your friend on the same team and the mission objectives will play out.
