To answer my own question: Yes, it disables friendly units on the tablet map if the server profile difficulty setting "mapContentFriendly" is set to "1".

I think it is becase enhanced ACE map has this
colorForestTextured[] = {0.22,0.50,0,0};
by default in RscMapControl, which makes default forest color 0 alpha.

It seems like adding

@Lucyfer Angel There is no mod such as "Ace Map", so what do you mean? Generally speaking, this mod shouldn't interfere with other mods and vice versa.

@HBAOplus You should be able to open the fleximenu, in which you can change the map type to paper. It's not automatic, but it works (normally, at least last I checked).

Hi, currently, if you select preferred map type to be tablet, when you not carry a GPS device, you can not bring up folding map by pressing binding keys. Could you please make some tweaks, so if you don't have GPS, you will auto switch back to paper map?

Hi, because "manual tracking" ignores GPS, and auto/auto-center ignores GPSless, there is not really a universal mode that is usable under both cases without opening in-game setting menu...

Auto-center functioning without GPS should be due to my settings, but I think I turned that on due to above reason (have been using your mod for too long without a thought LOL)

@SSG Why not just use the "Manual Tracking" mode?
Auto-center shouldn't offer the possibility of being a GPSless cheat. I've tested it and in my tests it works as intended (which means no positioning without GPS, unless setting is set to not require GPS), but there might be bugs.

Hi, is it possible to move the map when "keep player on map" is set to "automatic"?

While it only "refolds" the map when GPSed player moves to the edge, it does not allow manual moving when GPS is not equipped, rendering this mode unusable without GPS (auto-center, on the other hand, does not need a GPS to position, effectively a GPSless-cheat)...there is no middle-ground mode where you have to refold the map without GPS, but auto-tracking (even centered) with GPS. so...

Hi,I also found something wired. When you load a saved progress in a sp mission, sometime the TAO map(paper and tablet) will not display. When you switch to another AI controlled unit, the map's back.
This bug will not occur every time, but when it comes, trouble comes together.

Thanks for picking that up John. Managed to solve it yesterday with the UI editor, so that's sorted the size issue, and I couldn't input anything as I had it locked to 'automatic', so thats fixed now too.

@Val You can change the size using the in-game layout editor (under game options).
For some reason the default size is much smaller than I had actually wanted to make it, I will try to rectify that.
As for the lack of input, make sure you have read what the various CBA settings do and have set them accordingly (e.g. "Require GPS for tablet" might be the source of your grievances).
If you don't have the correct items to open the tablet, use the Keybind for opening the CBA Flexi menu (Ctrl-Alt-M by default) to change the map type to paper.
Take a good look at all the CBA settings, it will probably fix the issues for the lack of input you are having.

You just need to make sure that your NVG keybind is not the same as the Night Mode (tablet only).

@Finger Jam I haven't received any other reports. If you can make a bug report, where you list all mods that are loaded and various other parameters, I could look into it. But as it stands, I have tested it multiple times and have found no issues in that regard.
Otherwise maybe reinstall the mod? Could be a corrupted file.

Spent an hour pealing away mods to find the one causing issues. Just letting you know that it was this mod.

@Finger Jam No, it most definitely does not. It works with ACE and numerous other mods. If you can reproduce it, you can make a bug report.

This mod breaks the ability to use NVG.

@PTE Bendy Not a bug, currently a feature. In the next update there will be a setting for toggling this behaviour.

Has a BUG. When I throw away the GPS, the tablet still works as if I still had a GPS.

Almost perfect. It would still be ingenious if the lighting conditions at night would influence the paper map. For example, if you attach a glow stick to yourself, or if you stand near a light source (campfire, street lamp, spotlight, etc.).
And - in the paper version - it should not be possible to open this map on the default map (unless you had a second map in your backpack)

@NikkoJT I am going to change the build process of this mod (going forward I'm using HEMTT) which makes signatures on its own.
However, the next update will be a while, as I need 2.06 to come out, as that has a important command for me that I want to use here.
