Very cool contest maps. I played them all and made a yt playlist.
I played some of the standalone, updated maps as well - was cool to see the differences.
Just had problems with two of the maps. StreetWar could not be loaded and
Consul had a red wireframe in the map - could not figure out which other addon/asset-pack to activate.

Gvarados hasn't updated that collection since a month after the contest ended so there might be some missing from there that have been moved to standalone... Not sure. Also a special thanks to Gvarados for hosting this awesome contest, which to this day still has some of the coolest Alyx maps I've played.

In the first column, each map is linked to it's most current version, so you can determine from there if there is a more cleaned up version than the ones found in the contest pack. You can also reference my rating and review listed there to see if you even want to play the map, but of course keep in mind that my ratings are my personal opinion and you may not fully agree with them.

Steam blanket blocks all Google Drive links so you'll just have to trust me and ignore the warnings from Steam about potential malicious files within. Hopefully you find the rating sheet useful in finding more maps to enjoy!

Thanks. Police Station Raid & Club 17 on my list. I'll dig around to see if there's any other standalone maps - difficult to really give this collection an overall thumbs up or down, but the three winners definitely do (Shakedown played yesterday)

I ran this contest using bootleg tools that I made before the official workshop released. Some of these maps have been uploaded standalone but I think most are only on here.

@trgz Don't skip Police Station Raid. It's one of the best combat maps in the workshop, IMO. Has some story elements also.

Shame they all weren't released separately. The first one I started on ('Inhumane') seemed badly optimised to me for such a spartan map.
Only when I came to unsubscribe did I realise (remember) that this was a collection - I've played 2 of the 3 winners previously but still not sure I'd bother to play the rest, though I will check out that 3rd winner.

I can't load any maps from this...I just get a never-ending loading screen and the framerate tanks...then I have to close steamvr and launch the game again. Anyone else having this issue? Other maps work fine and usually load in a few seconds.

There is not, you can play them in any order you like. Worth noting that the three winning maps have their own Steam Workshop pages now, so I'd suggest playing those versions since they contain updates.

Only just looked at the winners now I've played all maps. Not surprised. "Higgue" was an incredible map that felt up to the standard of the OG game. But there's lots to love here. Recommended.

Yup, maps can be launched from the HL:A menu, maps will show up as: "mc1_nameofmapauthor" after you enabled the addon.

Can this be launched in the HL:A menu? Or do I have to open the console and type in the map names?

Hi frosty, The last section didn't work so well, had to roll back to an earlier version due to compile issues and I ran out of time to test and tweak. I am curious however what scripts and navigation were broken?

Club 17 is incredible!

This contest was hosted before the workshop came out, so we couldn't do individual uploads.
For future contests, we're definitely having people upload their maps individually.

Some of the maps are awesome, others are not. That would be fine by me and sort of expected. What annoyed me so much is the fact that many of the maps have bugs - not compiled properly, pitch black rooms where flash turns off, level designs where you cant find where to go, you name it... It would be way better if those maps were as a separate addons so the great and polished ones could shine. This way they get lost in the mediocrity 🙄

DHL Fleet, Glad you liked my map, I would say that with all the maps in this pack anything that came out is a miracle considering the "fun" I think everyone had getting there maps to the finish line with the unofficial tools.

P.S. The last battle for some reason the combine will get lost on the way to the doors. No idea why and when I test it they work perfectly cause they hate me :).
