If it's a custom part or move, you should get a message with an ID number. If there's a part or move from DLC you don't have installed, it should show in red in appearance or moveset if you clone him. He definitely has some Perros Del Mal logos, though. Did you use anything else besides the spikes? I have subbed to them and I have all the dlc but he's still missing something.
