I did a little bit of digging in the code for the cauldron and commented out the code on lines 1028-1030, only for code on line 1034 to throw an error only when the cauldron would give the wrong information, never when it gives correct information.
I'm not sure where the issue truly resides, but we're both hoping this could be fixed somehow.
Carlos, the error you mention is not related to the one I fixed. However, I tried to replicate it but couldn't, it seems to be working fine every time. I see that clicking on undo generates a new code, but even then is the same code for everyone.
Here it's a version of this mod with the cauldron fixed. You can take it and update yours if you want (otherwise, it's here to be used by anyone interested)

Beware the cauldron. Twice, I've played with a friend and it messed up making a whole game worthless. I will only play with the app.
Yes, I agree that using the app is more fun, but the cauldron is safer I guess.
(small detail, you may want to check the name displayed for the new updated version)
