it spawns my plane somewhere random then says out of bounds

I thought the floating trees were just low poly versions of high poly ones which do have trunks
so low poly trees have no trunks.

If you have skybox packs downloaded (linked on the mod page), in the explorer you search for "skybox controller" in the upper left search bar then on the right at "current skybox" you type in a skybox name from the ones you installed, listed in the tab "list of skyboxes" right above. If nothing happens you might've written the skybox name wrong, be aware of capitalisation.

But how do you enable skyboxes? I mean where do you go to enable them?

Custom Scene mod will disable the map bounds, not delete them.Through object explorer you can turn of the bounds too, and it has a ton of other useful things such as choosable skyboxes and fog settings.If you're having problems with lag try out the Mundock A version, without trees: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1843518803

You can also use the World Boundary Killer mod, or Custom Scene mod to delete the map bounds
