that's in the full download from mediafire. couldn't pack everything in one, upload limits. the way steam formats it deceives you, you need to grab the full link and just delete spaces in between.

alright, so: skeleton isn't supposed to have a model. it's supposed to be the part you bind everything to because i had to split it up into multiple models for a couple of reasons. it's just a blank thing. treat the skeleton as the base point, and everything else is like a hat in TF2.

ABSOLUTELY amazing model. Thanks for porting it for us to use!!!

To anyone who doesn't know what to do with these separate entities, just drag the skeleton model in the animation set editor to the bodies and legs (spawn them in first of course) and zero 'em out in the procedural tab. Hope it helps!

you have to bonemerge them to the model named Skeleton, that's a blank model you can load pretty much anything to. that's how you get a modular icon, by loading multiple of them and ticking different bodygroups on or off

Do you know a good way to compress vtf files to DXT5? VTFEdit I know exists, I use it, but I don't see a direct method of just selecting a texture/map file and compressing it.

there's nothing you can do. on my end i already did everything i could to make sure that the icon of sin was as compressed as he could be. if you want, you can try to compress all of his normal maps to DXT5 as those are the only things that remain uncompressed. auditor's, however, is uncompressed and all 4k as far as i know. if you want to try a less memory intensive solution, could try my port.

that all being said, there is one rule of thumb in which you load into SFM your most memory expensive models first, then trail down. otherwise there's nothing you can do about the memory as SFM is locked to the 4 GB limit.

As awesome as this port is, this and that one doomguy port by Auditor are pretty memory heavy as he mentioned with his port, every time I load this model SFM's RAM numbers go red, even at only using 2500 MB of memory, my PC has WAY more than a measly 2 or 4 GB RAM so the problem isn't on the end of my hardware. Is there anything you know of that I can do with SFM itself so that it'll handle memory intensive models like yours without being so quick to crash? Thanks.

I think I see what may be going on. My eyes my be tricking me, but the greebles on the legs look very faded and has this "rubbed off" look. Still an amazing model and a fully realized Icon is a stuff of legends.

yeah that's greebling. i dunno, each to their own, i like it, but i can also see why someone might not like it as much.

i mean like the overall concept of the texture. With all those weird lines on its armor, it looks too overcomplicated, like a child scribbled lines on the armor. It could just be me, but like i said it looks like when you assign the wrong texture to a model.

i still think that this demon's armor texture looks weird from a conceptual standpoint. Dunno if it's just me but when i look at that boy's armor, i think it looks like it's using the wrong texture.

But thats a bethesda problem, this port looks really nice
