Theres already a Ladder animation mod yall. Theres the Animated Ladder Mod. Well it doesnt work on all maps with Ladder's but it works with some maps.

So, I just tried it...and it is a little wonky. Sometimes it worked great, other times, I plummeted to my death. I also noticed that you are still able to fall off mid climb and it didn't work on the bottoms of ladders. Still, when it worked, it was great. No more do I have to trick jump ladders that extend above a ledge. So again, it's not perfect, but it's getting there. Thank you for accepting my feedback.

I've pushed an update that implements mounting ladders by pressing the use key. This is still experimental though, since I've been short on time lately (and because Source Engine ladders are pretty finicky). The ladder has to be below the player and you have to face the direction of the ladder for this to work properly. Feedback is appreciated as always.

Here are issues I've noticed that I will look into sometime:
- You might slide off the ladder sometimes. You can just move backwards (press S) to get stuck to the ladder in that case, so this isn't a big problem.
- You might get stuck into the ground if you face opposite from the ladder (because the game won't know which side of the ladder you want to climb unless you face its direction). Usually, crouching fixes this problem.

Like I said, it's the ONLY mod that appears to exist for solving the ladder issue.

I disagree. By being able to control exactly when you're on the ladder, you remove the risk of not only overshooting the ladder due to lag, but you also allow easier access to those ladders that aren't exactly lined up with a ledge. Again, kudos to you for possibly being the ONLY person to try and fix ladders, it's without a doubt better than vanilla ladder climbing. My only concern is that a button command would eliminate potential mishaps and accidents.

What about the addon is poorly executed? It's supposed to mimic CS:GO's ladder mounting when you walk off the edge of a cliff with a ladder on it. Are there any problems with that?
Isn't it easier to just touch a ladder than having to press E on it?

Gotta be honest, not the best executed mod...but it's still the ONLY mod I've found that tries to address the ladder issue. Is there any way you could set the mounting and unmounting of ladders to E, so that you USE the ladder?

It is not in the workshop. It used to be on Gmodstore but it seems to since have been removed. I can send it to you if you would like to look further into it. I think I was able to add some checks to make it work for now but I will test your version shortly.

I've just updated the addon to return nil instead of false in the Move hook. Can you check if that fixed your issue?

I have a grapple hook that creates a rope players can climb and it uses MOVETYPE_CUSTOM.
It would appear that this addon disables me from climbing the rope. Any idea how that can be fixed?
