The water assets are already in-game, but they are not bound to any classname.
Seems like BI intended to add water to stratis and altis, But never did in the end.
I just created a function to spawn the models.
Also, Some of the water assets can be buggy, like u described.
But for this composition I used the best water asset available, and it seems to have no issues regarding bugs.
The Function is located inside the mods PBO.
You can extract it and use it in your missions.
Yes it is, but some of the areas for altis require larger bodies of water.
And some of the assets available for water are kinda glitchy.
I used the best ones available for the canal.
